Yes cut price indeed obviously not aware of who they are dealing with they will pay more than we did plus an additional cost of asking to sign him in the first place, they will get levyed and they can't see it coming.

Wouldn't make sense-unless we have someone coming

Why not? We hardly use him anyway and have son if needed.

Besides, hes out of contract in the summer and will leave for free so we might as well get a few quid for him before

He came on to great effect against PSV.

He offers a different option then Son with hold up and aerial presence.

He's a good squad player and has fantastic experience and leadership within the team.

Too little to late imo. He wants to play more, we won’t play him more and he only has 6 months left on his contract.

Might as well cash in whilst we can

If we want to buy we will have to shift some to clear squad space.

Whilst from an investment perspective it makes sense to try and recoup our money, I think it would be to the detriment to squad strength if he was sold without an appropriate replacement. He's super professional, hardworking and an exemplary role model for our younger players. Is £5m worth a potential gap in our squad that may harm our chances in the second half of the season

I do see your point though so hopefully we do have someone lined up
