Easy enough question, which would you prefer.

Not being English it's easy for me but living in England I can see how much this nation has got behind the national side and when will England have a better chance than this to win the World Cup.

Equally when will Tottenham have a better chance to win the Premier League.

I set poll to close before England semi KO.

Unfortunately we may have missed our chance that Leicester year.
Manchester clubs and pool looking stronger each year.

Looks like Tottenham may be winning the world cup anyway

It's the semi finals - Tottenham don't do well in semi finals... ;)
Fortunately at least one of our players will manage to end that hoodoo - let's hope it's 5 or more by the end of tomorrow, not just one!

In answer to the question - I also wonder where it sits with the players themselves. Which is the most elevated title - world cup winner or CL/PL winner?? Would players who win the World Cup choose to then stay with us if we don't win club level trophies because they've won the WC and that's the peak title?

It's weird because prior to this tournament I said I'd rather Spurs win anything than England win the World Cup. I've never been passionate about England at all if I'm honest and that's not to sound like a 'bandwagon national fan' but really, the team has always either consisted of players I don't really like or the football has just been incredibly shit to watch. Or both.
You can really feel how special a World Cup win here would be though and I'd actually feel so proud if we were able to do it. I do think the Spurs players present and especially one captaining the team plays a big part in those feelings as well.

Basically, a win here means much more to me than I thought it ever would, it's a great feeling seeing the nation in unity and thinking that England can sit on top of the International pile. With all that being said though, I don't think anything would top Spurs winning the PL for me.

It sounds strange considering how much more widely historic it would be, but an England WC win would be amazing in the moment for me, but less after. Even in this WC, I've loved watched the matches but the next day I don't try and look back on the goals or read article after article on the team. With Spurs I'd be replaying that moment in my head and watching highlights of the achievement for years and years and years.

As sad as it may sound to some, Spurs play a really big part in my life, the England national team does not.

Unfortunately, it will also result in a lot of people behaving like complete twats.

I think that’s been overplayed a bit tbh, anytime you get half the country on the piss in the sunshine there are bound to be a few stupid incidents. I doubt it was much different from New Year’s Eve or any other time you get millions of people drinking like that

As for the OP, I genuinely don’t know until I’ve experienced both so will let you know which one was better at the end of next season (y)

It’s a difficult question, but I think I’d go for Spurs winning the league.

I’m sure I’d feel differently if I’d seen Spurs win the league before or if I felt it was only a matter of time before we did win it.

I'm so torn on this.

I get nervous before each and every Spurs match. I hadn't had that with England since 2002, but that all changed at this tournament.
Having a large group of our players representing England, and genuinely liking the others (well, not disliking them, as I would have done with previous squads) means that winning this World Cup could almost equal the feeling I'd get from potentially winning the Champions League. I can't say I'm optimistic enough to think I'll ever have the chance to compare the two, but I'll take a World Cup win over never experiencing either (obviously).

Tottenham winning something major would be a lot more personal to us fans but you can bet the players would choose winning the World Cup over everything, and rightly so.

TL;DR = 51% Spurs/49% England.

Impossible to answer for me. Solomon's baby innit.

Tottenham winning the League or England winning the World Cup would make me equally happy.
