No one thinks we "didn't have money". We just didn't find a player whom Pochettino wanted to sign, represented good value and whose club would do a deal.
I reckon exactly the same will apply this summer, but perhaps with higher figures attached. Unless there is a player who (a) meets a need in our squad or is young and improvable, (b) whom Pochettino thinks has the right character to be part of his squad, (c) who isn't madly overpriced, (d) who wants to join us and (e) whose club is willing to sell, we won't buy anyone.
And I don't expect that to change until we have a different manager. He sets the policy. And he is very selective, especially when it comes to the "character" question.
