Prime example: There was no reason for the Browns to move from Cleveland to become the Ravens, or the Rams to move from St. Louis to LA.
Not sure I agree with that to be honest. Moving a franchise is a complicated and expensive business. Nobody moves the team to a new city for no reason. Just because you don't agree with the reason doesn't mean there isn't one.

The Rams moved (back) to LA because (among other things) there wasn't enough support for the team in St Louis. They consistently had one of the lowest average attendances in the NFL and regularly under-performed in terms of revenue generated by the franchise. If the franchise isn't generating as much money as it should, and there's an offer on the table for a move that they predict will make the franchise more profitable then that's a perfectly valid reason is it not?

I don't like it and hate the way teams in America move around, but to say there's "no reason" is just plain wrong.

Isn't one of the big franchises moving to Vegas? I saw a massive stadium under construction while I was there last week. It'll probably be finished before ours.

Raiders are moving to Las Vegas. Heard the stadiums on the strip too. That should be fun.

The only reason NFL teams move is due to money. The Rams and Chargers moved to LA because the LA market is deemed more lucrative than St. Louis and San Diego. The earlier kick-off time in the UK gives the NFL another nationally televised game a week but also allows them to market live broadcasts to the Middle and Far East. London will eventually get an NFL franchise.
There are some smart folk who think that the Chargers move from SD to LA is showing early warning signs of being a disaster.

Their average attendance is about 25k which is pretty worrying considering they are playing in a 27k capacity stadium and are due to move to a 70k stadium in 2020. The Chargers to LA made little sense. The Rams have the longer and more recent history in LA so have a fan base there (though even Rams fans are outnumbered by Raiders fans so the Chargers are the third biggest NFL team in a city that only has two teams), it's a saturated market as they've got LeBron's Lakers & World Series champs Dodgers, and LA's never been an NFL town - the combined attendances for both the Rams and Chargers at the start of the season were less than the attendance of a USC college game.

Yes but the NFL is completely run by the owners, you can never know what will happen.

Prime example: There was no reason for the Browns to move from Cleveland to become the Ravens, or the Rams to move from St. Louis to LA.
Art Modell was going bankrupt. He was promised by the city of Cleveland that a new football only stadium would be built for the Browns. They instead chose to build a baseball stadium, the rock and roll hall of fame and the Quicken Loans arena for the Cavs, gambling on the fact that Modell would never move the Browns. He then called their bluff and moved them because he had no choice. He couldn't afford to keep them in Cleveland. He eventually couldn't even keep the franchise he loved so much. His cash problems forced him to sell the Ravens a few years after arriving in Baltimore.

The Rams moved because Stan Kronke is a sociopathic piece of human garbage that could only see dollar signs.

Let’s say, for arguments sake, this is going to happen. WTF do Oakland fans think of this or do they not give a shit?
The Raiders are moving to Vegas in 2020 so I doubt Oakland fans give too much of a shit as they're losing their team anyway.

Gutted. Maybe we could move to Oakland to cheer them up. We could call ourselves “The Chicken Raiders”
You don't have to play in the city to use the name (7 NFL teams don't play in their namesake cities - the San Francisco 49ers are over 40 miles away from San Francisco) so we could be the Totten-Ham Blue and White Sox.

I would probably travel 40 miles to watch Tottenham play, but I would have to think twice about travel 5,345 to watch them.

Yeah Oakland fans won’t care as the team is not staying in Oakland next year anyway as it stands. They are going to Las Vegas in 2020. They are already resigned to losing their team as their tenancy at the stadium in Oakland has been terminated leaving them homeless.

I personally would welcome the raiders to Tottenham. I see no negatives for Spurs. It will earn us a few million to help pay off the stadium, especially towards the extra few hundred that we’ve had to add to the build cost recently.

I would also expect them to be called London Raiders.
