This summer has already been a fascinating one in terms of the transfer moves made by Premier League clubs.

Spurs have taken a risk by not making any major signings, but they could be taking an even greater one if they do end up making significant late moves.

I'm sure that isn't the case, I've been reliably informed by many people that Levy has changed. :angelic:

sensible argument. if Kane gets injured in the first couple of games then all targets value will increase by 5 million if we have not secured any new strikers.

Utter nonsense. Even Chelsea would have an "incomplete squad" when the season starts. While it's true we may be a bit short at the beginning of August, I'd rather see prudence (as in now) than us paying over the odds on players who may not help us progress (as in two seasons ago.)

Surely a team like Liverpool are the ones playing a "dangerous game" in the transfer market after splurging money on players they don't need a year after doing exactly the same thing and still falling out of the top 4?

Spurs, quite honestly, are being smart and diligent about their approach thus far and the window isn't even shut yet.

We're really only lacking cover for Kane. In the worse case we just keep hold of Soldado

It's a bit flimsy, this article.

Of course Spurs will sign someone.
'Major' signings isn't the only way.
We're not at the 'late move' stage yet.

Say the Berahino deal is done, as some say, on Friday, or after the USA trip, it's still before the season begins.

Shedding the fat before adding the muscle is the best way forward for Spurs this summer. We've been bloated before and stuck with players that won't leave.

Better we take our time to find the right players at the right price. I have to admit I was excited by the Bale spurge, the new buys looked good on paper but few lived up to expectations. We currently seem to be taking the right decisions and hopefully will find the players Maurico wants to push us on. Another 4 1/2 weeks to go before the transfer window shuts but I hope all Spurs dealings are done by next week.

Isn't that reason enough to get cover.... quickly?
We also have no DM, is it really acceptable to have Dier playing as a DM against Man Utd?

If we buy a striker before we get rid of ade or soldado then we will have no negotiating power when trying to get rid of them.
We get rid of ade, we bring in one. We get rid of bobby, we bring in another.
That way we are in a position of strength.

On that theory the selling club now says you are desperate for a striker the price is now higher

I think we're ok for options in midfield. Up fronts the issue to my eye.

We don't really have any negotiating power with those two anyway. It's a dangerous game, what happens if no one buys them?

I think we must try to sign Charlie Austin, if the Berahino deal is true. Kane surely need backups. IMO

I'm not to keen on Austin he has injury concerns and lacks pace, though I can see why some feel he'd be a good option .. Batshuayi would be someone to seriously consider .

I don't think Poch thinks we are ok for options. He would want a DM that was the whole point of bringing stambouli in, now that he has been sold he will surely want him replaced.

Is Levy a f*cking goldfish or something? Is life for him like that film Momento?! Does he wake up every transfer window with a cryptic puzzle tattooed on his body that he has to decipher before the window closes?! Will the suffering ever end. It does make me wonder sometimes...

Looks as though ade is gone and a lot of teams are interested in soldado.
To answer your question though i'm not sure. Ade is capable to be a fantastic player and bobby is more than capable enough to tow the line in europe. It would have to be down to poch and what he see's on the training ground although i'd be tempted of bringing in a wide forward who could also play up front just in case.
