Hope to catch them in Seattle... fingers crossed! Better be freakin' worth it - last thing I want to do is catch Tim Sherwood's youth XI, while the first team are busy doing photo ops with 2 minutes of sub time!

doubt many of the WC players will play much as they will be back late and catching up on fitness by then.

Whilst they may be good for marketing etc. I don't see the point of these foreign tours/matches when we never seem to have the whole squad together and it isn't easy for players or new signings to join up with the squad and settle in when they are off around the world somewhere, plus with all the travelling it eats into time that could be spent on the training pitch and getting the players up to speed with what the new manager wants from them and the tactics/system.

Still, guess it cant be as bad as last years pre-season. That was just farcical.

Welcome to the global sport brand. Nothing to do with a team, more to do with brand awareness and breaking into the US market. We have Underarmour here which is a real plus for spurs. Their flagship manhattan store in soho has a nice spurs centerpiece.
Just need to match on the pitch...

Last time they were here in the states we got to see some youth and all the first team players, bar those that were in still on break from Olympics. I can say it was more than worth it and the players were fantastic. Best thing to do is find the local supporters group and join in at their meetups. It's likely that there will be an opportunity to meet some staff in the evening (we got to meet Parks and Freund).

Kinda pissed off. Could have either went to Seattle or Chicago for the matches there and visit my step siblings, but since my sister is getting married, I cant go to either. Bitch.

I'd rather we spent a week doing this at the end of a season. They can faff around then doing all the meet and greet, promotional/marketing stuff and play a couple of exhibition games that they want.

For me we shouldn't be wasting time pre-season, especially under a new manager, traipsing across the globe and the increased headache of getting the whole squad together. Spend the most amount of time possible drilling them on tactics/fitness etc, maybe then we can maximise the potential out on the pitch...

There is the fitness benefit that the climate is generally hotter and more humid over there so training will be a little tougher. So conditioning wise it's not a bad trip. There is also the bonding element of having the players all together for a couple of weeks with no entourages etc as well as the brand expansion which is vital to club growth in the modern game. I don't think this is as bad as some are making out. Let's not forget that these players will travel and live in luxury during the trip and will likely keep a similar training plan as the would back home - I don't see the problem myself
