Amazing how constant rumours can dull your senses. Know it should be exciting but totally over this one now.

Harsh on them all (maybe not kaboul since his injury). The way we play means the two cb's are often left exposed and high up the pitch.

Yes, as our front four press they leave massive gaps and without a proper DM to help clean up, too much is asked of them.

I have my doubts on both Vertonghen and Aldeweireld especially Vertonghen last season he was atrocious imo he escaped criticism that landed squarely on Mason's front door. Its going to be interesting next season.

I would love to see the partnership of Dier Wimmer

Wouldn't be surpprised to see Verts as our new DM

In my opinion, Dier is on par with him now and will far exceed him within the next 2 years. I'd rather keep Faz and Wimmer for the Europa and continue Diers's development in the PL alongside Verts.

When I saw a 21 year old in his first season at a big club tearing into seasoned pros (Verts, Vorm) after conceding a goal I was sold.

He has everything to be a star player and captain, other than a loss of focus at times I honestly can't see a flaw to his game.

Give him game time and he'll develop into a brilliant player, starting next year

First of all I want to say that I have nothing against Eric Dier. He's great prospect, but you really think he has qualities to become future captain? Can I ask why?

PS. He's looking like a fucking simpleton. :ROFLMAO:

PS2. It's funny because it's true. :)

From what I've seen he ticks a lot of boxes to be captain material.

Be easier if I bullet point

- first season in a new league at a young age has the bottle to step up early doors and start against the spammers (don't think any of us would have thought he'd play that soon) play in two different positions and have a stormer

- like I mentioned, absolutely gave it to Verts and Vorm ( experienced players) after conceading a goal, he knows what he wants and expects a high level

- Organises really well, very vocal player, the kid doesn't seem to shut up

- played out position when needed and gave it everything, puts the team first

- has the overall quality as a player, in my opinion the best captains are often one of if not the best player

- seems to have a great attitude, don't think it's a coincidence that the club have got him doing a social media diary talking about pre season

- looks like he wants to learn, I've seen Hugo talking to him during a game and seen noticeable changes to his performance after

- he sticks up for his team mates, seems to me when it gets dirty and scrappy he's one of the first on the scene to stick up for his mates

Sure I'm missing a lot but that's what I'm basing it on

The son of a friend was at Sporting Lisbon Academy with him. Said he was a quality bloke and strong character. Just fyi.
