It doesn’t take much for momentum to dissipate. Football is contested within an ever-changing landscape and so it’s imperative for clubs to remain in a perpetual state of evolution.

Seb just echoing what a lot of Spurs fans feel when it comes to transfer windows and taking a bit of a risk in the name of building on earlier success and progress.

So far our transfer activity this summer looks to be more self-sabotaging than anything else.

So far we have 20 first team options not including Onomah and Winks. If we make one or two good signings in the same fashion as Wanyama and Janssen i think we will be in a very strong place.

It'd be nice to have genuine cover for Dembele but apart from that we really don't need to tinker. Making loads of expensive signings can either be read as a statement of intent or an expensive panic attack. We bought the two main players we needed early in the window.

I'd agree except that we have let a few squad players go, so we need to make sure we have the squad depth for all competitions.

No point splashing cash for the sake of it. Look at what happened with the Bale money. Lesson learnt I hope. I would love to see another Gazza or Bale but they are few and far between. The current transfer market is mad. I never thought Mason and Chadli would go the the fees mentioned. We have two class players in for reasonable money, the French youngster should be signed by tomorrow and the Spanish under 21 goalkeeper on loan. New stadium on the way and a crop of good academy players coming through. If we hold our own for another season and develop as a team and club I will be happy......it would be nice to win some silverware though!

Another website, another provocative headline.
This ok written article says nothing new. It spouts conventional wisdom, no more than that. But Spurs are a club transformed under Levy. Berbatov, Bale, Modric, van der Vaart, Lloris, Dele, Vertonghen, etc. A new training ground built and a new stadium on the way. Consistent top 5 finishes. Progress built on youth, some good signings (and bad ones) and constantly seeking to upgrade manager.
It's easy to criticise but you can't have it all ways. Yes, we could try and buy success (more ambitious in the transfer market) but far from all Spurs fans want to take that route, even if it were an option.
