No idea how this transfer (hypothetically) will turn out, but there's something exciting about signing a promising youngster from a lower-league team.

Could turn out to be a prime Dele/Walker or a Dean Parrott/Bostock.

Clubs like Southampton, Dortmund and to a lesser extent Brighton have made it their MO to sign promising youngsters in the hope they full-fill their potential and 'blow'. THFC are not in the same position as the clubs mentioned, but an interesting model none the less, especially for clubs who need to be creative in the market.

I also think players are beginning to cotton on to the risk of being a 'big club' squad filler in comparison to meaningful senior football at a 'smaller' club. You only need to look at our very own Noni Madueke who swapped a likely 'fringe squad' status for the lure of regular first team football at PSV. His career trajectory has been drastic in the past 18 months, with many talking about a potential move to a European 'bigboy'. Not convinced he would have the same amount (or calibre) or suitors had hes stuck around at Spurs to play the odd League Cup fixture. More power to him!
