He had a quiet game last night, but played the ball well and looked confident on his first outing. Bloody glad he has arrived to plug a hole in our defence.

Good article giving more insight to the hungry Spurs fans of what Ben Davies is all about.

Loved reading that article, sounds like we've got a left back to rely on for years to come, good luck Ben

Rumours today of Rose sulking, not a good sign. Just got one HG quota LB in, if we lose another, it's back to square one, albeit with an upgrade.

It sounds like he's the sort of full back that I like... defensively minded and isn't always looking for the overlap. A good reading of the game, and excellent timing in the tackle is most important, with the ability to play the ball smartly down the line. That is all Gary Neville did for about 15 years.

Who gives a fuck what rose does...if he doesnt like it fuck off back to sunderland !!!! He aint even good enough to be sulking, knuckle down and improve your game and prove your worth in our SQUAD.

I'm sorry ? Not good at attacking only defending ?
I would say the best part of rose game is attacking and I thought instantly Davies looked more intelligent with what to do with the ball ... Played some balls in short and some longer...

We need two left backs, one to start and one in the squad. Last year that should have been Rose and Benny but it ended up being Rose and Vertonghen or Naughton - one area that didn't work well when Danny got injured. I'm guessing we won't see Benny again so I'd like Rose to stay around.

If we go after another CB - and we still really need one - Fryers could be used as cover...yes?

I tend to agree with this But,

I'd say Rose is more attacking in the sense that he bombs down the line like a headless chicken in a role that nearly makes him a second left winger. This of course meant so often he was caught out and you could see him 'jogging' back to get into position. Davies is a more traditional mould, that still considers his defensive duties (which i think is great).

BUT, you are definitely right, Davies looked far more intelligent and played a nice mixture of short and long balls, even if a few first time passes, I loved the one he cut into the box for Lamela's near miss early in the first half. Whilst Rose is more 'rangey' Davies will be a far more useful offensive weapon because he plays with intelligent and plays clever offensive passes into dangerous areas.

Yeah that jogging back bit frustrates me, if it wasn't for that he wouldn't be half as bad as he is... He just seems to give up, or lose track of the fact that he's a LB not a LW

Zeki Fryers

Danny roses value will only diminish without game time. And cup and Europa won't keep him happy he's already said as much.
Sell now why we can still get above 5m for him
We let him sit for a year that's easily down to 3m plus the wages we fed him for sitting

Outstanding signing.

I will even state now this will prove to be the signing of the summer, across all teams.

I have been a big fan of this kid, and given the choice of Shaw and Davies - I would pick the latter every time.

Hopefully, I will never have to see Rose bomb forward aimlessly then jog back ever again. If Sunderland were prepared to spend 14m on Borini, then let's get an equally outrageous fee for our very own poor player.

Let Benny play 2nd fiddle.
