Yeah. He’s not particularly special at all. We’d be better off using the academy.

If you look at the players we’ve been linked with none of them are special barring Rabiot but JJ has already dismissed this link. It would even be fair to say they’re all unknowns or cheap stocking fillers at best. We need quality not more 3rd raters.

That is right but only if you believe the rumour mill/newspapers etc.

In Jan with our finances, unless a big club suddenly puts a star player on sale, I completely expect us to get a stocking filler.

Looked a bit small and slow in the video... Definitely a next level down player from the little I saw in the video's.

Question is; is he ready to get right into it or do we see him as a potential future player. Imo we're in dire need of a player who can step right in right away

With dembele, dier and wanyama out and a ton of games coming he'll be straight in ready or not.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

And we know that Poch is not interested in signings for the sake of it.

Perhaps the players we are being linked with in the tabloids are not the players we are trying to add. Pochs has said time and time again he won't bring players in just for the sake of it. This was what happened in the Summer, we could have got numerous players we were linked with in the press, but they were not upgrades so Poch decided it was better to not bother.

I agree and I think that’s the point I was making or at least intended :). Given the rise of Sissoko, return to fitness of Winks and the gradual introduction of Skipp we only need 1 quality and I’d say experienced? central midfielder to add to our crop. The biggest signing however would be Eriksen signing a new deal. An alternative to Kane (replacement for Llorente) would be nice also.

The first transfer window ever, for me, where I’m not bothered one iota if we don’t sign anyone.
I think signing one player of real quality, would go a long way towards encouraging others to sign new deals, and for Poch to know he can achieve his goals with us. It doesn't have to be a mega huge player just a very well thought of up and comer would do, as long as it's a player Poch has earmarked.

Definitely see the logic to this.
For me, I’m normally scrambling to see who we’ll sign, then get disappointed etc. Think what I’m trying to say is that ‘desperate’ feeling is not there any longer. As you say, as long as it’s a player earmarked by Poch. Good times ..

And could be an important move, given that at least two clubs will no doubt be circling Poch this summer.

Are we to forget about Onomah? I still have high hopes for him and feel he is the natural successor to Dembele.

What’s happened to him

Poor form and injury early season... apparently played well of late.
