All 4 of our full backs deserve a lot of credit for buying into the rotation Poch is using. They are all keeping sharp and fresh and show what depth we have in this area. Trippier and Davies caused mayhem v Watford. Lets hope Walker and rose do the same v City.

Pochettino is starting to rotate them very well, meaning they all see a decent enough amount of game time to stay sharp and interested.
Other areas of the team are starting to see similar rotation. The whole ethos of two for every position is starting to take shape at Spurs, and with still three fronts to fight on, it will be needed. Replacements for Dier, Kane, and currently Alderweireld (although this may be Carter-Vickers) are the only areas we don't have that natural like for like alternative.

It's the position that, in my mind, requires the most running in the team. If it takes the regular use of both of them to keep that part of the clock ticking then go for it.

He was immense on Saturday, definitely MOTM for me! It's great having four full backs that Poch can rotate. They all seem to have more hunger about them.

Still disappointed with Eriksen. His corners are sub standard and he just doesn't look like he's enjoying his football like the rest of the team. Maybe Poch should let him play in the middle for a few games, see if he shows some better form.

Seriously, the press have got to stop with all this positivity in regards to my team. I can't take it. I'm not used to it. I still go through the build up to every game expecting us to lose - I can't change my mindset at the age of 40+.

Please can we go back to being 'spursy'? Not by deed, of course - I like the winning and playing well, etc. I mean just in what is expected of us.

Pretty please.

I agree! We're second in February for pete's sake, how are we supposed to make sense of that. It's almost as if Poch has turned us into contenders. Not just champions league place contenders but serious contenders for the title. Whatever next. I need to lie down.

It's a fantastic time to be a Spurs fan.

As much as I respect our bean counter for keeping the books in order since Enic took over and for finally getting the right person in as manager, IMHO the real catalyst behind our current success is Mauricio. His "philosophy" has been accepted at all levels and that in itself is a minor miracle, particularly when taking into consideration the turnover at a managerial level ever since Enic came in
Of course I know that he still hasn't produced by winning the league or the respective cups we are involved in. However the work ethic of the squad, plus the exciting football we are now playing, tells me that we are on the cusp of something special and as a supporter of 58 years standing it truly warms the cockles of my heart. Well done to all at W.H.L. and in particular to our Argentinian maestro.

Don't jinx it...

On a more serious note, I wouldn't advise you to hold your breath. The team has been uncharacteristically un-Spursy and I do not foresee that changing.

“We train a lot, and take a lot of care what happens in transition,” he said. “We know perfectly what we want to do when we recuperate [recover] the ball. But it was impossible. They are like animals.”

You beat me to this quote @thinktank: “We train a lot, and take a lot of care what happens in transition,” he said. “We know perfectly what we want to do when we recuperate [recover] the ball. But it was impossible. They are like animals.”

I never thought that I would read a quote like that about a Spurs team. The odd individual player, perhaps, but never about our team as a whole.

It's OK, that prick Ashton gave Poch a score of 5.5.

I've not been following Spurs as long as @guate , I'm short by 3 or 4 years and have only been following them since 62 or 63. I've been at Wembley seeing them win the FA cup twice and the EUFA cup at WHL but I've never been so excited by their prospects for the season in February. Like just about all fans I dream of winning the title but daren't speak it out loud for fear of jinxing it. However, the articles in the Telegraph and the Grauniad make me realise that a big change is happening. We are in danger of being very unSpursy, the papers and other clubs are realising that we are no longer throwing it all away at the last minute. Rather we are more likely than most to win it at the death, whatever "it" is. That alone makes me very happy and if the unthinkable happens and we do win the title I will weep tears of unbridled joy and happiness.

But for now I will take one game at a time and keep my dreams to myself, content that we are in the race for the top for the first time that I can really remember. COYS!

I was talking to a Preston fan (who knows a lot about the Championship) just as we signed Trippier from Burnley. She was saying that he was the best player that she'd seen in that position at that level for a while and that he would prove to be a fantastic signing for us.

I remember seeing a MOTD post match interview with Dier after one of our wins earlier this season (can't remember which) and he was positively bristling at Tottenham's reputation as lily-livered bottle merchants and was keen to point out that this team are determined to change that perception.

I knew at that point that things had changed, these boys really want it.

This season has been tough for Eriksen and he hasn't produced as much as in previous years. Let's give the guy a break though I think he's tracking back more and he's not getting to play in his favourite position as the central attacking midfielder. Alli has taken that place so Eriksen has moved out to the left a lot. When we play Lamela, Alli and Eriksen from right to left somehow the balance isn't quite there. Lamela wants to drift off the right wing towards Alli and Eriksen does the same. Only Alli is in that position and he's the one having a great season. It's something we can work out, Eriksen's general play is still good he's just adapting a bit. Still good passing, shooting and control just he's not in front of goal all the time. Good players find a way, have faith.
