Could see them getting him, even though they got enough firepower in attack. Meanwhile we don't seem to want another good striker because of Kane.. Weird..

Do they? Take out Salah, Firmino and Mane and who do they have? Sturridge never plays and a perma crock, Lallana way off the pace and doesn’t look the same player as before the injury and shaqiri who isn’t exactly consistent

Zaha is great when he has space to attack, and really don't think playing against teams that sit deep would enhance his game. he would get moody when rotated because there would be games he wouldn't play. to be honest his accuracy and scoring rate isn't too good either. he is stronger on the left, and so is Son. I know they can float, but would mean Son floating more for someone that doesn't score enough goals, and it's not going to help if he isn't scoring or accurate enough to assist. with his reputation for diving he will also hinder us getting penalties

@Luka Van der Bale if you don't agree with my assessment disagree explain what I have wrong, I like to learn.

1. have teams started putting 10 behind the ball v relegation fighters Palace, and I've missed it.

2. has his 3 goals and 2 assist in 20 matches made him a world beater.

3. has he not got a rep for diving

4. he looks like he has the hump everytime he doesn't get a free kick, or when taken off, what makes you think he will be happy to be sat on the subs bench regular, because he isn't better than Son

5. I'd rather Timo Werner, someone that could do a job if Kane and Son was out by scoring goals

Haven't seen enough from Lamela or Lucas to suggest that they could carry a team the way that Zaha has carried Palace the past few years.

The difference is that Zaha can absolutely dictate play from that wing position in a way that no one in our squad can. Lucas is a very traditional winger imo, and therefore pretty limited, and Lamela has never really fulfilled the promise of "Roma's future #10." But in a perfect world, I see Lamela as depth for Eriksen, not a wide player.

I've always viewed Zaha as a poor man's Hazard in the way that he plays on the left. Think about Zaha out wide and Kane/Sonny in the box. Totally gives us a new dimension.

Without a doubt. Zaha is feared and rated by coaches across the PL, Poch and Pep included.

I like Lamela and Moura but both are very inconsistent for me, and they play with superior players.

That's why Poch wanted him in the summer.

Edit: The Hazard comparison is a fair one, and both are much higher rated than their stats suggest. The main part of their game is carrying the ball into dangerous areas, committing defenders and winning fouls. Zaha is not as good as Hazard of course.
Thanks. Zaha is a good player, undoubtedly - but I do think we undervalue the worth of our players a little.

When he’s on form, Son absolutely dictates play from the wing in a far more devastating way than Zaha, admittedly while playing in a better team.

But 25 goals and 18 assists in 5 years at Palace and never hitting double figures for Palace in the league isn’t a great return. Again, I accept those numbers would be better if he played for a better team now. Lamela’s not much better stats wise and so I take the point that Zaha may be the better Premier League player, however not sure I can be convinced he’s a couple of levels above our current crop.

That’s cause we aren’t getting him. There’s six days to go and we aren’t even credibly linked to anyone. Even the ITK lads are quiet

Must be who JJ is referring too but didn't say we are interested in doing the deal.

Yeah it came across strange to me, in the sense of why would he be so keen for us to pick him up.
