I think they need to sort this out now a.s.a.p. before the final game. We won't finish any lower than 6th & its pretty-much nailed on that we won't finish above Everton without us smashing Villa by a cricket score and hoping they lose on the final-day, so our season is finished for all intents & purposes.

This season has been an absolute shambles from start to finish. The wholesale changes in the summer needed to be completed within a short space of time to assist in the assimilation of the players into the squad, however it was not. The added caveat that these were all players from outside the Premier League meant that it was always going to be a huge struggle to ask this newly formed group to lead us to the promised riches of the Champions League. I accept that the ineptitude of AVB was something not many could foresee considering he had achieved the quadruple with Porto in the 2010-2011 season and laid the foundations for success this season by helping us to achieve our highest points tally in the 2012-2013 season.

Nevertheless, after he deservedly got the sack for the 'anti-football' that he insisted on playing, we needed an inspired appointment & we never got that; instead we got Tim Sherwood.

His appointment steadied the ship to some degree, however the performances against the teams above us, barring Everton, have been shocking. We've amassed a stellar 1-point in 8 matches against the top-four. Granted that Sherwood wasn't in charge of Arsenal (away), Man City (away), Liverpool (home), however he has overseen the 1-5 demolition against Man City at the Lane; crushing 4-0 defeats against Chelsea & Liverpool in their respective away fixtures, and the 0-1 home-defeat against Arsenal.

The brand of football he plays makes me want to cry. Its boring, its turgid and it just smacks of type of football that we got used to seeing in the late 90's & throughout the 2000's. The players need to take a huge responsibility for the performances because a lot of these players have gone missing when they should not have been. Heads need to roll for their lack of character & it will take a tough man to make those decisions.

I would be happy with the appointment of Frank De Boer, as long as the football is good. Sherwood is right when he says that our next appointment has to be with aim of maintaining longevity & creating a lasting-legacy. I would love LVG, but know that he would be gone in 3yrs at most. With FDB we get a manager who has won major honours as a player, and has gone onto achieve success with the current Ajax team. Anyone who says that he ought to be when he's managing the top team in Holland need to consider that if it were that easy, then any Jan, Niels or Edgar could do it. The pressure that comes with managing a European giant like Ajax, considering its storied place in world-football, cannot be underestimated. He deserves a lot of credit to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Van Gaal, Kovacs, Michels & adhere to the attacking ethos of the club whilst achieving success.

I want to see purposeful attacking football again & see the academy lads being given lengthy tenures in the team next season. As long as the next manager devotes his entire being to upholding the attacking & entertaining virtues of my beloved Tottenham, then i will back him to the hilt.

Agree with every word except this bit...
'I accept that the ineptitude of AVB was something not many could foresee.'
There are undiscovered tribes in the darkest forests of the Amazon who knew that Avb was a bloody stupid appointment.
A dead dog thats had a head swap operation can win Porto the league. After Chelski it was obvious to anyone that the Porto success was despite AVB not because of him.
Good post though mate (y)

What talks he is gone.

It could well be Mr Levy made him certain promises and he wants assurances that they will be delivered.

I won't be surprised if TS is still here next season. I'd be pissed but not surprised.

I don't feel, and 1 million times more importantly, i don't think Levy and Lewis feel that Sherwood is the right man to lead us in 2014-15. He may be , with 3-5 yrs experience at a lesser club , a good manager in yrs to come? But he looks more out of his depth with each game , and every interview.
Nobody has ever said that managing our beloved Spurs is easy, expectations and hopes are always high. Levy desperately needs to get the next appointment right. FDB sounds the ticket, and I wouldn't be unhappy with Pochettino.
6th place is THE worst place to finish. Means we will be playing our first competitive match in the Europa League in July. Last game will be the first time I've ever attended a home game half hoping we lose. I think the club could do with a season out of the Europa league. After all , it's done wonders for Liverpool , having a lot less games.
