The worst game you've seen at the Lane?

Firstly, this is not a knee-jerk reaction against any of the players who played last night, but the game against Hearts could certainly not be described as a thriller. Yes it was nice to see some of our yoof get a run out and there was also an excellent comedic performance from Roman Pavyluchenko (who will surely be starring in a Martin Lawrence movie before too long...Big Mama's House 9 - Being shit in Russia). But ultimately it was all a bit boring, particularly in the second half when not even the Hearts fans seemed to care.

So this got me to thinking...what is the worst game you've ever seen at the Lane? I don't mean humiliating defeats or simply terrible Spurs performances, rather games where so little talent was on show from both sides that it made you wonder what was going on in X-Factor (or whatever the 80s equivalent was).

For me last night comes pretty close but only because we've traditionally been a ludicrously open team and I haven't been going to games regularly for that long. I think a cup game against Southend that we had (where Defoe scored from an offside position in the 117th minute or something) is the winner, but I'm sure you all have something better...or worse as the case may be.

Not been to many TSH, but I did make it up last night. Personally the worst game I have seen live but still enjoyed the evening. Always get a buzz going up there.have to look at the positives and i did see a cameraman who looked like Bill Bailey but with more hair......

One game that stands out off the top of my head was Spurs 0 Fulham 3

Barry Hayles scored twice and I think Zat Knight (who totally dominated our attackers all game)

We barely turned up and Fulham pissed all over us, I suppose there was action in the form of Fulham goals but really it was boring, dire affair with us getting a bit of a beating to boot. At least last night and a SPurs penalty and a fair share of possession.

Say that during the Ossie days and the Gerry Francis days I am sure if I put my mind to it I could come up with many games where we scraped a 1-0 loss

Don't get me wrong I enjoy every time I go to Spurs and like I said it's not a criticism of the players involved. The nature of the game meant it was always likely to be dull.

Just got me thinking of other games which, if watched by a neutral, would completely bore them to tears.

Wigan at home a few years ago. Went straight from football on a Sunday, smelling like crap with crusty mud on my leg still. To watch 90 minutes of pure bore fest football. It was the start of the Ramos era.

Am I the only one who quite enjoyed the game last night? Good to get a look at our younger lot. Confirmed why Harry hasn't given Kane any Premier League time, why Townsend has flattered to deceive on loan at various places and why we'd rather put two goalies on the bench than call on Fredericks.

But seriously, I thought they all did OK considering at least two of them looked like they'd been borrowed from a local estate at the last minute. We should enter our D team in the Scottish Premier League, we might win some silverware

4-1 defeat to Newcastle was pretty gash... Not least because our only player that seemed to be capable of doing anything that day was Malbranque, and the guy sat behind me spent the entire game slagging him off because he hadn't scored twelve hattricks with his eyes closed...

Also 1-1 with Sparta Prague, few days before the Carling Cup final against Chelsea, that was poor

0-0 under glenn hoddle v southampton at home, same season 0-0 v boro.

A few games under graham, although we were good for what we had.

Probably quite a good game for the neutral but most recently the 1-1 draw to Blackpool at the end of last season.

I couldn't believe it. I was stunned walking out of the ground. All our hopes and dreams of a 4th place finish disappeared into thin air as we fail to beat a bunch of postmen from the Championship.

To be fair the Worthington Cup final against Leicester was a terrible game. Ginola was the only good player on the pitch and they had three players marking him.

Still, the fact that a) we won and b) it wasn't at the Lane probably means it doesn't qualify for this thread.

I was going to post this.
I was there too.

I saw some real dire displays under old Juande.
2-1 defeat at the hands of Sunderland.
Cissie header and Keiran Richards wonder goal.

Losing at home to Wigan last season 1-0. Considering we battered them 9-1 the season before and the fact they had lost there previous 2 games conceding 10 goals, I was expecting another spurs goal fest!

I think last night was probably the most boring I can remember. Been to loads of games where wev'e been shite but last night didnt really mean anything or there was little to play on. I even stayed till 90 minutes, half the ground had left by then!

Shitty on Sunday should be a good game tho, think everyone will be more up for that!
