So 1st fixture at Wembley in league is Chelsea but then a few easy looking games before we host Liverpool in Nov.

Chelsea game massive, we win that at Wembley against the league champions then I think we will be serious contenders

I really don't want to come across as putting a downer on us, and I hope my fears are proven wrong, but I think Levy and Poch have a really tough job on their hands over the next 18 months, and they need to hold very strong in the face of pressures that (as of right now) we are not experiencing.

First, I can see us really struggling next season due to playing at Wembley - maybe not finishing as high as even some pessimistic fans on here are predicting. I do think that as fans we should be prepared that we could, say, finish 7th/8th in the league. We need to make sure that we do not totally lose the plot if that happens.

If that were to happen, fans aside, the main challenge would be with the players. I think we can all appreciate that some of the players in our squad are accepting less money than they are worth at this moment in time because we are making remarkable strides forward each year. If they are provided even a shred of doubt that this progress has been stunted, whether it's the club's fault or not, I can see a good chunk of them wanting out.

The destabilising effect this would have on Poch and his project would be really, really tough to take and Levy needs to be really strong next summer, and do everything he can to support him.

As I said, I really hope I am wrong and we romp to another CL finish and a trophy next season!

I don't think its going to be as bad as some others do. We tend to start a little slow under Poch and that's not good when Chelsea and a pumped up Newcastle are the first fixtures. But... as long as we can take dropping a few points early on and not let it affect the heads I think the team will push on again and compete in the top 3. The Wembley thing is just a bad run of luck, we struggled in the CL because we were missing players and our form in general (at all locations) in the first few months wasn't great. Losing to Chelsea in the semi final is not an upset so should be taken as one of those things not, as the press are loving, some voodoo Wembley curse nonsense. Remember when we couldn't win a game in which Bale started? Not long after we couldn't win when he didn't!

I am hoping that we can improve on our away record next season to compensate for any possible Wembley hiccups. If you consider our final points total of 86 consisted of 53 home and 33 away then the Achilles heel becomes apparent. So let's hope for balancing the books this time and looking at 45pts both home and away. A grand total of 90 must surely put us up there in contention for the title I would have thought....and a definite CPL place again.

:)

I'm fairly convinced that this will get lots of dislikes/disagrees but it's something to consider, at least. I mean, christ, there were genuinely people calling Poch out after a dodgy spell of draws last Autumn so I dread to think their reaction if we totally fail to make it work at Wembley.

We need to stick with our club and I'm worried that lofty expectations of another title challenge will appear sorely misguided as the season unfolds, and met with an unreasonable reaction from fans who just didn't see it coming.

I used to be really worried about it but the way we finished the season has me positive. I think we will be ok.

I think a lot of the problem was switching between Wembley and the Lane. Obviously there's a certain pattern you want to play at home, but using that same tactic but swapping pitch size must've been pretty difficult. Hopefully having the consistency of playing there all the time will help. Also hope that moving all the fans in the same configuration as the Lane will help the atmosphere.

It is inevitable in this sort of environment my friend that if you begin a thread or post with the words "I think" then you will get ratings of like/dislike and agree/disagree. The fact remains that in a forum such as this you are perfectly entitled to have and voice your opinion. Whilst I totally agree there is bound to be a 'Wembley effect" upon our form compared to last season I also believe the squad is now experienced enough to face the challenges ahead and overcome them. As I posted earlier I feel we can compensate any draws/losses incurred at home by equally improving our away form. There is little doubt that the Chelsea game is massive to us and where we have a wonderful chance to state our intentions regarding the title challenge. So yes, I disagree with your fears but suffice it to say I understand, if not necessarily share, your concerns.
45pts home and 45pts away....sorted !

The new season at Wembley will be interesting.
I understand some fans are concerned about a 'poor' season, perhaps as low as 5/6th !!
But in regards to the players, this could be the reason Levy/Poch has signed them all up on 5 years contracts (perhaps all)
So if any agitate for a move (Walker?) then we will get very good money, otherwise a similar squad will move into the shiny new WHL !

At the rate we look to be selling first team players to rivals, we will be lucky to get 6th.

Currently the number of players in that category stands at zero. Walker is looking likely to leave but if we can replace him well and bolster other positions then we'll be in a better position than we are today.

Let's wait and see before bringing down the hammer.

There's a disagree button for a reason. Why use Spam? Or are you just trolling?
I'll choose whichever silly little picture I fucking like thanks.
Can't help but laugh at your little meltdown in the ITK thread and saw youre bringing your tantrums into this thread, you actually treat this ITK which no one even has the bollocks to put their name to like it's straight from JJetset...is this your first summer of ITK mate?
Part of it's already been bullshitted by Breezer who is known to have very good links to our youth setup, which doesn't say much for the rest of this ITK now does it?
Have a word with yourself son.
