It felt to me that Gustafsson was pacing himself too much early in the fight. After the slow down in the final 2 rounds of their last fight he threw a lot less in the first 2 rounds this time. I think he wanted to finish stronger this time but unfortunately he got caught out. As soon as Jones secured the takedown he was far too strong. He has amazing ground and pound so it's always a problem when on your back against him. On the feet Jones also has a lot more tools, throws a lot more varations. He used his range well, keeping Gustafsson at kicking range rather than boxing range. His team had the perfect gameplan.

I hope this is a new Jones. Both fighters are 31 but Gustafsson is much more mature and grown up. Jones has struggled with that punk kid attitude. He has an amazing team around him though and his raw talent is exceptional. Inside the cage he is the very best all round MMA fighter in history. Outside the cage is where the big question mark is. I dont know if it's the people he surrounds himself with or what. If it is then he needs to get away from them. If he moves away from the punk kid lifestyle he will clearly be the GOAT. Many will say he is now but for me it's not just about how you carry yourself in the cage, but how you carry yourself outside.

I hope he fights DC again. I dont know if it can be done but would love both belts on the line for a change. Winner takes both belts.

Great win for Nunes. She showed her striking speed and accuracy. She beat Cyborg to the punch and that right hook over the top of Cyborgs low left hand was perfect. She clearly did her research on Cyborg dropping that hand. Full credit to Cyborg for showing the respect to Nunes after.

The official line (excuse the pun...) is that he has done nothing wrong recently but they couldn't make this whole thing more complicated if they tried, so most people are in complete confusion. Fuck me, it shouldn't be too hard. IS HE A DRUG CHEAT OR ISN'T HE ???

He's a drug cheat and he's trying to get his no contest fight overturned. I really hope DC does not fight him again. He is the legitmate champ, champ no matter what Jones says.

Gus said he got a kick to the calf which fucked his leg. I think he said in the corner that he was fighting with one leg now. Jones had a good game plan, stay out of range and use his jab and those kicks. He learned from the first fight.

I was really shocked to see Chris Cyborg get knocked out by Amanda Nunes. I honestly thought it would be the other way round.

So peeps...what's the next massive PPV?

Cejudo v Dillashaw? Can hardly wait for that one.

Just watched the Nunes/Cyborg fight... my word!!!

The Mayweather "fight" was a joke. Once again he gets a shit ton of money by facing a non-boxer, on his terms.

Yes, I too was shocked at the Cyborg v Nunes fight. Really didn't see that happening the way it did. Fights like Mayweather v Nasukawa are nothing but freak shows and are of no interest to real sports fans like you and me.

I tell you what though, that was the most offensive I've seen Mayweather. He seemed to just want to get it over with. He turns up late and then eventually the fight comes around and he just goes staright after it. Way too big and strong for Teshin, totally bullied him. To be fair to him he gets offered silly money to box someone that he knows he will beat. As much as I dislike him as a person, Mayweather is a genius at making money.

I kind of get why people think it's a joke fight and maybe it is. But it still lasted longer than Nunes vs Cyborg. It's a fight and just because it's over quick it doesn't instantly make it pointless. The only real criticism I have is to not include it in the Rizin PPV. I think viewers had to pay extra to see just that fight. If it was included with the full event then fans would be getting it as a bonus fight. Take it or leave it. They do these kind of fights in MMA all the time, maybe not UFC but other companies. They just did Ortiz v Liddell when Liddell is in no shape to fight. I wouldn't say this Mayweather fight is any worse, especially given the older fighter is the favourite and the underdog is so young (and unbeaten). I certainly wouldn't pay for this fight and I didn't pay for the Mayweather v McGregor one either. Include this sort of fight in an event that you want to watch anyway then it's worth it.

The issue most have with that fight is that Teshin was only allowed to box - when he's a kickboxer. The contract had a clause where he would be fined $5 million if he kicked Mayweather.
It wasn't a fight at all, and it wasn't an exhibition either. It was like something Vince McMahon would dream up for WWE.

I'd love to see Mayweather in a MMA fight with Dillashaw. I'd give him about 20 seconds.

Mayweather is a 41 year old retired ex-boxer who hasn’t had a meaningful fight since 2015 against Berto.

Since then he’s been involved in exhibitions and making big money from them. Something which Ali himself did. Ali had exhibitions against wrestlers, nfl players etc
The old time greats fought many exhibitions, under different circumstances granted, but it was all about earning a nice easy payday whilst showcasing some of the old skills.

Floyd doesn’t need to go and enter an MMA ring and fight under them rules against a UFC champion. He’d make more money by luring Khabib out for a boxing exhibition, just as he did with McGregor.

I actually think his recent exhibition was a little staged. Worked though, it has people talking about him again and saying they’d love to see him get beat etc
Make no mistake, even half fit and under trained, he could have taken McGregor out within a round or two had he wanted to. Floyd knows how to keep himself in the game in some way.

I hate Colby but he has a legitimate gripe against the UFC. Usman is the better fighter but I wanted to see Colby get thrashed by Woodley.

Jon Jones was tested on fight night and was found to be completely clean, the picograms that were present before the fight, just mysteriously vanished, strange that....

No doubt, Dana believes that Usman has a better chance of taking out Woodley so has screwed Colby. Never underestimate how much Dana hates Woodley. I hate Colby overall but he def got done over here and tbh his trashing of the UFC and Dana was right on point

Tends to marginally back up the idea of pulsing I guess. He had several clean AND unclean tests in the run up to the fight
