Agreed. Bit too RAWK for me to be complaining about being penalised for having better players.
It was said more tongue in cheek to take the piss out of arsenal and West ham......... However, I want to see the best players playing, but if they're all injured or fatigued because of meaningless internationals then it's annoying.

RoI v Wales tonight. 7.45 on Sky Sports.

Ben Davies playing for Welsh Wales. & Martin O'Neill thinks the pitch at the Aviva is too big for the Irish lads.

Watching the paint in my sitting room dry with the Ireland v Wales game on in the background. Really exciting

The France v Germany game is on the red button, is much better. Germany playing well and Sane in particular looking a bit of a threat, just not with the end product.

I really like the UEFA Nations League
The smaller teams have a much bigger chance of getting points and make history (like today with Gibraltar)
And the big teams plays each other and most of these games are good to watch
It also gives the small countries a chance of playing competitive football at their level

Great 1st half of Switzerland vs Belgium. Swiss needed to win 1-0, 2-1 or by any 2-goal margin to make the semi-finals. They promptly went 2-0 down in 17 minutes meaning they need at least four, but have pulled it back and lead 3-2 at HT. Game on

Expect it to go to 4-2 and then Hazard to score with the last kick of the game.

Not like club football where smaller teams might survive from the money they get from playing a big team.
Still great for their fans. Not a huge amount of hope for the true minnows still - your San Marinos and Andorras who are no more than microstates and have tiny populations, although they can realistically pick up points and the occasional win. But everyone above that can dream of making it to a major tournament which is a huge deal for them.

5-2 now :wideyed: Incredible come back by the Swiss.

Just need Holland to get at least a draw against Germany and the final four will be:
  • England
  • Switzerland
  • Holland
  • Portugal

Shaqiri was absolutely superb tonight. Can’t think of one thing he tried that didn’t come off.

Chadders has a mare, but Belgium played like the game was done and dusted after 20 mins, and carried on with that mindset even after the half time talking to.

Cracking weekend of Football.

What a game that was. Can only be good for England's chances to have Belgium out but the Swiss will certainly be a test if we draw them.

Germany vs Netherlands tomorrow now. Germans already relegated :)D) but a point for the Netherlands sees them qualify ahead of France. Other note is that if Germany lose, they'll probably be one of the worst two sides in League A which means they miss out on the top seeding for Euro 2020 qualifying. They should be okay anyway as each group has two places, the 3rd/4th seeds aren't fantastic (the highlights of Pot 3 likely being Turkey and Serbia), and even if they missed out there they're very likely to get a playoff spot. But it does just raise the possibility of Germany or another big side who draw them in qualifying missing out on the Euros altogether.
