I’d say impossible, Djokovic can beat Nadal because he’s in his head but I think there’s way more chance of straight sets than a Thiem win tbh

Undoubtedly there is. But Thiem has beaten Rafa on clay before, so there's a chance ...

I'm not going to put any of my hard-earned on it though!

So good to see Murray back and playing well, would be amazing to see him back and competitive on the singles circuit again.

I don't think you'll see Murray in top level competitive singles again but it was good to see him win the doubles at Queen's with Lopez.
Testament to the surgeon who operated on him that he's been able to return to the game with obviously a high level of fitness and pain free.

The real testament should go to the 37 year old Lopez who, in the space of 24 hours, played almost 10 hours of strength sapping tennis to win both the singles and doubles. Last season I heard managers and players complaining at having to play 2 ninety minute matches in 3 days!!! Lopez's feat was truly remarkable in my humble opinion deserving the utmost respect.

Couldn't make my annual first Monday (sometimes first Tuesday) trip to SW19 today due to our recent new arrival, but I've been glued to it all day.

Gauff looking incredibly confident against Venus, could be a real story if she knocks out a former champion 24 years her senior.

And Zverev & Tsitsipas out.

No shock about Sascha; he's having a mare of a season (so I had money on Vesely!) but Tsitsipas is a surprise. I had him down as a possible finalist if Djokovic pulled a muscle along the way.

Auger-Aliassime looked pretty decent earlier too. V surprised by the Zverev result. Hope this isn’t another generation of players who can’t cut it in the slams...

Thiem looks the only one putting up any kind of fight at the moment

FA-A has to sort his serve out when the going gets tough (hark at me!!) but he looks a good bet for the future. Tsitsipas will stay around too; he's got a tough mind.

Sascha I reckon having had so much success so early, is now suffering under the pressure of expectation; #3 in the world, shoo-in #1, Slam title winner etc it's all come down on his shoulders at the moment. He'll come through it.

The big three saw off the Dimitrov / Raonic / Berdych generation, but I don't see how they can outlast the next one.

Ok sorry my bad, he hasnt retired retired - he retired from the match - therefore ill still follow tennis although to be honest im not the biggest fan. I prefer team sports than individual sports but appreciate the quality and talent that tennis players demonstrate

Another day of shocks (none more than the glorious sunshine)

Thiem out
Berdych out
Sharapova out
Muguruza out

Also didn’t realise Bedene had gone back to being Slovenian again o_O

Best news of the day though has to be Murray confirming that he’s going in the mixed doubles with serena

Shapovalov out as well. So much for the new generation; that rests on Auger-Aliassime, who should get through to meet Djokovic in the 4th round.

Otherwise the men's is already looking a lot like the past 15 Wimbledons!

Nadal / Kyrgios looks tasty, depending on the state of the latter's head.

I've not seen anything from Shapovalov that's convinced me that he's going to reach the top echelons of the sport yet.
Would love it if Kyrgios could knock out Nadal, whatever your thoughts on him, his matches are never dull.
