should be roles on the bench and if not him then parrott, we already have more than enough defensive/midfield options. i know that they wouldn't get on anyway and they'd just there to make up the numbers but it's still baffling to me as to how marsh is seemingly at the front of the queue.
Completely agree. Skipp and eyoma this season makes sense, they both have great potential. Marsh taking up places, and others like Amos before him, doesn't. Why not pick a creative midfielder at the very least? In any case surely an attacking player would be the wisest option. I genuinely think poch has some sort of issue with picking flair players

It might be Huddersfield but KWP has looked excellent today. I find it hard to believe that either Tripper or Aurier would have looked better. Time for a run of games, me thinks.

No way he starts against city after trippier's performance the other day

Skipp, like all young players needs time to develop, both physically and mentally. Kane, Winks etc all took a couple of years before they found their feet. Its huge step up into the first team, from youth football, when you are now playing against seasoned pros, and not pubescent boys anymore.
Its a process that needs to be carefully managed and Poch has developed a reputation for bringing through young players, because he is good at getting that right. I don't understand why a lot of people expect so much so quickly.

Does anybody who follows the youth closely think that Troy Parrott has a chance of being on the bench before end of season, or even ready to be on the bench
Or is this season just a little early

I don't really think it's any surprise that Marsh keeps getting called up. Whatever he does at youth level, his brief appearances in the senior team (eg. pre-season) have all been very solid. That probably does enough to keep him at the front of the queue when it comes to making up the numbers.

Issue is that he's making up the numbers in positions where we don't actually need him. I'd much rather an attacking player get a chance than someone who generally plays midfield or defense. Just seems like a waste of a squad place, and limits our options on the bench if we need a goal

In reality it’s probably too early for Parrott. He’s 17 and 2 months. Hopefully will go on pre season tour and next season get bench time. But be interesting if we buy an out and out striker. Personally think llorente will get another year.

Any attacking player with any remote chance of being involved is out on loan though. We know Poch isn't that bothered about the subs bench, so Marsh will continue to get picked as he hasn't done anything wrong at senior level.

the run of games is so important - in the first half i didn't think he was positive enough on the ball and opted to play safe - in the second half he seemed to grow in confidence and was a great attacking threat - i think a run of games would give him that belief to play like that from the off

Tbh the other right sided full backs have been turd, trippier has cost us so many goals with idiot moments, SA has had moments but seems injured or troubled off field.

If only we could sell both and buy one decent RB and have KWP as an understudy. Trips would go for good money, I think KWP is a better one vs one defender ( but a) that’s not hard and b) it’s hard to judge going by his game time.

Marsh is a diabolical footballer and would be so out of his depth it's untrue. When he leaves this Summer he'll struggle to get a league club. I think it's really sad that he's at the front of the queue.

I haven’t seen enough to date from KWP to be convinced he will make it. I thought he was ok on Saturday. But he never really looked like he had the beating of his man. I expected more against a poor Huddersfield team. But he’s 21 so not gonna right him off just yet. Will be very interesting to see what happens at RB over the summer.

I thought he put in some lovely whipped crosses in the second half.
