That is a proper shame. Wells was a very respected young coach. I hope his replacement is someone progressive and modern.
A lot of our coaching replacements have been strange imo

There doesn't feel like a real clear philosophy at the academy since Timmy, Chris and Alex

I feel like we have gone backwards and just become a typical academy leaving players to make their own progress in regards to making it

I think McDermottt has earned a bit of trust for all he has done.

Its been 4 years since has been in charge by himself, the appointments have been strange and performance gone backwards.
Not from what I have been watching over the last few years, yes our u23s have always been a poor side but it is at u18s we have done a good job.

Considering he appointed Inglethorpe, McKenna, Parker and Wells, all who will be operating as significant coaches/directors in the PL, I think he knows how to judge a coach and person. Sometimes he’ll be looking for a different thing, like with appointing young up and comers it’s hard to keep hold of them, hence getting in some older faces like Burnett.

Im not talking about performance of players but the overall performance of the academy. I dont feel like there is a clear message from top to bottom.

Fergie's academy setup wasn't great but it had a clear message from top to bottom. All aspects of the academy imo should be focused on the same overall goals rather than a disconnect from U16's,U18's, U23's and first team

Parker abandons his job with us then comes back, and whips a top coach from the kids he left.

What a man.
