Judging by the stats we've still enjoyed the bulk of possession. We're still around 66% but where as the Spammers have dramatically upped their shot count we don't appear to got a shot away at all in the second half. So, it would seem we've had a lot of the ball but not in dangerous areas. It would also seem that the Spammers have been playing a bit more direct and focusing less on build up and more on chance creation, even if its only half chances.

The goal came on '84 minutes. After the goal we made our final substitution with Rafferty Pedder replacing Rayan Clarke.

A kid with 1 senior appearance is not going for £5m. Not even as an overall package. The going rate for a League 2 17/18 year old striker with a handful of appearences is going to sub-250k. Maybe double it to take into account his potential and the obvious mark up as a result of demand and you're still no higher than 500k. Add on a million or to as clauses for various things and you're still nowhere near £5m.

That first goal is quality. The weight of touch and the finish are superb, and you can see by the way he glides through the movements that it wasn't a fluke.

Its patently obvious that he doesn't fit into Poch's system. You either have to be a rapid, extremely pro-active, work-a-holic, goalscoring and creating AM or an industrious, pro-active, work-a-holic CM. Josh is neither. We all hoped he'd develop into a Dembele-esque ball carrier but Poch side-stepped the more reactive, pedestrian but skillful Josh for the more rapid and pro-active although clumsy and wasteful Sissoko. It suggests that with the current squad chemistry Poch prefers the brainless pace, power and aggression in there alongside a screener/recycler (Winks/Dier) than Josh.

I've always found Josh's dawdling and reactiveness frustrating. I've always been desperate for him to show his inner beast (more insistent ball winning, more aggression on the ball and more directness in his running) but I'm really starting to wonder whether it was ever there or whether his size and power at youth level made it appear that he had that extra gear to kick into.

What are the rules for watching under 18 games? I've seen that we play Southampton on Friday at Hotspur Way, is it ok to just turn up?

Not sure if it has been mentioned here but a new youth coach (actually assistant head of player development U16 - U23) joined in October called Jon Goodman that we poached from Notts County, which is apparently how we knew about Etete.

Just read about this lad who scored 2 while on trial - was anybody at that game?
