because we don't have 40 million based on the evidence.
if we had bought Grealish the goal was to pay for him by off loading sissoko, Jannsen, gkn, fernando, maybe edwards, etc.
I think we have the money, we just weren't prepared to pay over the odds for Grealish.

a loan abroad would be interesting but i don't mind where he goes as long as he gets to play cm and for a team that at least tries to play football, got a terrible feeling we might punt him back to villa though.

Maybe, but I don't think Villa have a need for him. They didn't end up having the fire sale they feared and they brought in McGinn to shore up their CM options so they are probably sorted. Most of the teams I look at in the championship and think Josh would fit in well and their style of play would map well are either overloaded in midfield of mixed quality or have an establish progressive CM Josh would have a hard time usurping. I agree a loan abroad would be more interesting and open much more options.

Some training pics up on Getty. Honestly didn’t recognise Onomah. Thought he was that black coach we have. Not sure if he’s grown or what but really looks a bit of a beast.

So long as it doesn't end up like Mason's loan to L'Orient...

Pretty sure that Poch intimated he'd need to go somewhere he'd play more than last year at Villa if he were to go.

Wasn't set in stone. Think they're trying to get him fit. SUch a shame the timing of his injury.

u23 line up:

whiteman; hinds, eyoma, tanganga, brown; marsh, maghoma; edwards, harrison, georgiou; parrott

subs: de bie, dinzeyi, duncan, roles

can watch by signing up to lfctv here and get a month free using the code, have to put in billing details but can easily cancel before the month is up. alternatively i'm sure there will be other avenues to watch it if you look hard enough.

Good to see Parrott already stepping up to the U23s

Big statement to see Parrott at this level so early. Did we even do that with Edwards? Carter-Vickers and Onomah the only players I can remember to have played at this level so young in recent years.
