I said last season that I expect us to cash in on Edwards this summer, and I think this hints towards it actually happening.

I think everyone would be happy with that outcome

Now in his final year of his contract too, right? Can't see him going for much.

Depends what we'd try and hold out for I guess. He has a lot of value, and he's only 19 I imagine there will be plenty of clubs sniffing about, who will try and low ball us, but I guess the ball is in their court.

When you think Bennetts went for 2m, anything under that is a steal, and I imagine the club would want more than Bennetts. Depending on where he goes, there is also not the pressure to play him as he might be so cheap, but the potential rewards if he has tapped into could be massive. Minimum risk for massive reward even taking into account his 'attitude problem'

Smells like the clubs abroad would come sniffing. Ajax will know about him, all the German clubs will, but wouldn't be surprised to see a City still come in for him, and offer bigger money than they do, but he would be foolish to go there

i'd be happy/relieved for him but at the same time i'd still be gutted that we'd never get to see him in the first team(well, apart from 15 mins against gillingham).

100% would be gutted it never happened here, but that's the PL for you

I'd be happy as it would be potentially great for England, and the FA would probably be happy as well

It will be best for him, to start a fresh and move to a league where chances are easier to come by. There's no downside for him, especially if he goes abroad, he will be in no worse a position.

Great for whatever club gets him as low risk high reward

Spurs get a fee and a 'difficult' player out the club, and no more questions about him.

And 99% of fans will be happy and won't care either, so there will be no pressure on the club or issue for them

If he does prove to be quality we'd be the only losers, but there is a very very long way to go before that is the case.

So the u15s game is on. Must say it is a really pleasant surprise to get a youth tournament that is streamable so early in the new season, especially with this team. Feels like proper football is back. And now my stream begins to bugger up

yeah. mathurin looking a threat again whenever he gets on the ball, could maybe work a little harder off it though.

I do like the look of him, very natural. Seems to have really come on, but as you say plenty he needs to work on

I find these age groups some of the toughest to judge. With the young kids, on their small pitches, it's easy to see who has superior control and who moves naturally with the ball. When they're 15/16 it's easy to tell too. But these middle groups who are all growing weirdly and getting used to the massive pitches.

It's funny to see a midfielder do something really well, i.e beat a man and play a 1-2 but still be 40 yards away from the oppositions goal. Stuff that with a couple of years of growth would lead to a goalscoring chance, becomes an innocuous moment in midfield. The same for playing out from the back. They can beat the press brilliantly, but they're still deep in their own half. Tough to turn great fundamentals and intelligent play into goals simply cause they're smaller, slower + weaker. Great habits though.

Well described, I always struggle to place what always seems odd but you make a very good point. It is also strange of course seeing how much some grown and trying to adapt what they already know to their new body which result in a lot of inconsistent performances. But like you say you can see the talent and what they're trying to do, but their body will let them down sometimes. one I think of is Haysman who has grown a little and knows what he wants to do before he goes to do it but is struggling to execute it. When he was tiny before he isn't that tiny now. What is good to see is BBW still look very effective. At u13s he was a beast and i haven't seen him play in a year. Others have caught up with him, but he still has skill and looks dominant and the back. Shame he's just gone down though

Think we finished with Obiero (19) and Donley (16) on the field. Hopefully will be able to build full squad by next game

Their academy is shit. Should be a walk in the park for the Spurs boys.
Not true. the u19's just won the DA a few days ago. They have a bunch of good homegrown talent and I'd imagine that their u14's would also be on track to play at that level.

They beat the LA Galaxy (meh) academy 0-0 on penalties, the Columbus Crew (not a good academy), and Crossfire Premier, who I've never heard of before. Hardly a murderers row. The premier academies in the US are FC Dallas, NY Red Bulls, and Real Salt Lake.

It's also tough to have a lot of "homegrown talent" when their academy was only launched 3 years ago.
