parrott and roles are effectively the kane and dele of this side, we missed them big time.

very disappointed with maghoma's performance and it seems that after a much improved first half of the season he's now reverted back to the player we saw last year, hopefully he can find his way again but he's a lot like tob in that the ups are just far too infrequent given his obvious talent.

I do like Hinds he’s a bundle of energy surprised he doesn’t get mentioned more. Was really disappointed with Skipp he only started playing last 10 minutes. Dropping back to this grade you’d have thought he would have controlled the game.
It's difficult to balance opinions here. I and I'm sure others, like @edson and @Blake Griffin have gone on about Hinds for a long time, you can search the thread. The issue is that constantly going on about him, is pointless and eventually lead to accusation of moaning or overrating them. If KWP isn't going to get a chance here, neither is he so what use is promoting him all the time. Then you hear things like we want to sign Sessegnon, Aarons, or Wan-Bissaka and his chances are slim to none. I actually think he is a better all round player than KWP.

KWP was a standout player due to his attacking play and dribbling and while I'd say he was the best RB I've seen at the academy, Hinds is close behind. However, with the dribbling seemingly gone from his game, then I'd say that Hinds is a better defender and a very good attacker. Either way it's unlikely we'd bring both through. Hinds is definitely one of those I have suggested leaving, and if he were in a foreign league or come through the Championship I have no doubt he'd be playing first team football by now.

Just looked back at some old posts of Hinds, and it was all quite predictable. On RS level, then everyone wanted RS, now everyone wants Aarons who Hinds was ahead of in the England pecking order, and now AWB who is even ahead of KWP after this season. Incredible stuff

I wouldn't be too harsh on Skipp. For whatever reason it may be the lack of games or even motivation I can't remember many if any players that ended up going into first team training or being out of academy football for a long time and coming back and doing well in the one-off games. Can think of Onomah, Veljkovic, TOB I think even Winks struggled in a game against Sunderland for the u21s. Either that or the expectation placed on them is even greater so their standard performance may look average. Whatever it is Skipp isn't the first to suffer from it.

I thought Skipp was one of the better performers today.

Although it was difficult considering the link between the midfield two and the attacking ones was pretty non existent and on the odd occasion they did link it ended up with maghoma losing it or the crossing going into no one.

You can see why we are trying to get another decent forward/striker in.

Tbh I was watching on my phone with no commentary. And at points it’s quite hard to distinguish between white and Skipp on your phone. What I’ve noticed with Skipp and this was true in the seniors is a bit like Dier he makes me nervous on the ball. I know it’s a difficult area to receive the ball but he just never looks comfortable everything looks an effort actually almost a bit like janssen. For me the sign of a class player is they always look to have more time but with Skipp everything looks rushed and a bit panicked. I think that’s what’s made Rice stand out is the way he looks so comfortable and in control. Long way to go for Skipp and hopefully he can win me over but right now I’m not convinced.

I seem to recall that when the likes of Kane and Townsend were training with the first team and then dropped back to the rezzies they ripped it up. In fact they were asking to play for them because they wanted the game time.

But if I remember they were having regular game time. These guys were either on loan or playing EL football at least and playing u21 football in between. Not being held back from academy football and first team football and being dropped back in for a one off game.

I think there should be an U17 squad ? You’d expect Cirkin to be in that. Feels a bit weird that even though our U18 are flying high, doesn’t feel like a lot to be excited about at moment bar Parrott. Quite a few decent prospects but not many real standouts.

He's about 7th on my list of ones to get excited about.

I would have loved to have gone to the u18 match but annoyingly I'm busy that day. I'll be going to the legends match though.

My app has to be wrong. Its got us playing 4-4-2 (how long since we've done that?) with Armandao Shashoua in central defence and Binks holding in midfield. I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that those two players are the other way round and that we're not, infact, playing 4-4-2 at all.

I'm going to guess we're going 4-2-3-1 cum 4-3-3.

Oluwayemi in goal, Binks and Walcott ahead of him, Okedina on the right, Statham on the left, Pedder sitting in midfield, Shashou and Markanday ahead, Pochettino on the right, Clarke on the left and Whittaker leading the line.
