Winks was given an opportunity and took it. Same as Rashford although his was down to injury. Edwards isn’t good enough even if they gave him an opportunity. The king is dead ...long live the king(aka Troy Parrot).

Comparing Winks to Edwards is a joke. One is a genuine talent committed to his career the other is going nowhere fast except on the internet where some Spurs fans saw him as the second coming. LOL.

I was suggesting a 19yo might have issues finding his way to a new work place is all.

I also don’t understand why, if he was so bad at Norwich, they kept giving decent reports of his progress and put him on the bench and gave him a few minutes. Doesn’t completely tally with someone completely pissing everyone off, every day, does it?

You won’t give up will you. I don’t think the kid is going to make it BC your probably the last one in his corner. I admire your loyalty.

I don't understand the rush to write Marcus off - and seemingly the enjoyment in doing so - for me has a lot of talent and can do things others can't and for me the challenge the coaching staff having is fitting him in. The whole argument about him is built on a so called attitude problem which is at best tenuous.

Give the boy time and time will tell but for me I would rather see him on the bench than another hopeful signing

Anyone see an U16 trialist we had this season from Limerick FC in Ireland? His name is Tony Mambuana. He also trialled at Celtic and Norwich. Wide forward I believe.

look at grealish, almost 23 and it was only a year ago he was written off as a wasted talent, now we're probably going to pay the best part of 30m for him. marcus is still only 19 and whilst there have been suggestions of him being a bit "difficult", there's never been reports of him acting quite as unprofessionally as what grealish has in the past so it seems a bit premature to suggest it's curtains for his career just yet.

Christian Maghoma has joined polish shitty club Arka Gdynia, confirmed by club's official twitter.

Bizarre, career-ending move.

Why is it a career ending move?

Arka Gdynia play in the Polish top flight, and plenty of players have resurrected or developed careers in that league.

For example, as well as spells at Corinthians, Spurs & Barca, a certain Paulinho has played in both Poland and China. It's the life of a C21st footballer in a globalised world, for right or wrong.

I'm polish. I'm not a fan of any club in our league, but Arka Gdynia generally is a badly organised club with some serious issues. What's more important though - this is not one of the clubs you can show yourself and make transfer to better league.

And yeah, Paulinho didn't make it as his polish club considered him not good enough, just like Legia Warszawa dropped Lewandowski in favour of Arruabarrena, whoever he is.

I hope I'm wrong and wish Christian all the best, but it's gonna be really hard.

Understood. I'm half-Polish, but you have better info than me on the specific club and I defer to that knowledge.

That said, at this stage in his career, Christian Maghoma needs to be playing competitive men's football and he & his family may have decided this is his best offer.

His older brother, Jacques, left our Academy for Burton Albion but has carved out a decent career at Sheff Wed and Brum.

And his younger brother, Paris, is obviously a promising talent still at our club. But if it doesn't work out for him at Spurs, I'm sure he'll be looking to stay in the game too.

Yup. But ultimately we decided Paulinho wasn't good enough for us either, and then he signs for Barca and starts for Brazil at two World Cups.

It really is a funny old game.... ;)

Good little video with KWP and Maitland-Niles, talking about how they won the World Cup last summer. Get a good feeling for Kyle's personality...

Staggered he's managed to get a club in any of the top flight European leagues. I know he was pitiful on his Twente trial so maybe the Polish league is more akin to his standard.

Former U18 defender William Troost-Ekong starting for Nigeria tonight. Started out in his country of birth Netherlands with Haarlem before they went bust. He trained with Fulham for a bit before signing for us after a trial. he barely paid in the three years he was with us for reasons I could never quite fathom given his inclusion in Dutch youth squads.
My little claim to fame during this world cup, I went to school with Will and played alongside him as cb for our B team. He couldn't play for the A team due to restrictions imposed by Spurs, and our B team rarely played. Also went on a school exchange to Japan with him

The phenoms series on sky is really good watching one on Oliver Burke. The money too young really is an issue. I’m not surprised so many fall by the wayside. Living the dream at 19 when they’ve barely done anything in the game. You definitely need to have a special mentality not to get side tracked.

the 'money too soon' is just a lazy shiny object that prevents any realistic or in depth analysis of the individual situations so they can blame it on the players.

Ex-Spurs youth update: A little know fat lad called Harry Kane scored three goals in something called the World Cup. Never heard of it myself.
