he has. heard from sources outside media that he would have joined on pre contact in Jan if it wasn't for his fathers' sudden death :( RIP
He can sign a pre contract any time. Doesn’t have to be January. So if he actually wanted to join us (it we were even interested) he could have.

Who are the wunderkids on FM these days? I remember Ruben Neves and Luka Jovic being two must-buy youngsters a few years ago, and they've both turned out alright, so I am just going to blindly assume that we should be after any youngster with a Potential Ability of 170+ in this year's game.

Get on it, scouts.

Paul Mitchell, is that you?!?!

After reading Poch's words about Van de Beek in the Spanish press I wouldn't be surprised if we are after him regardless of what happens with Eriksen. He's given him some nice words. I posted them in the Poch thread.

Van den Beek. Nobody talks much about him. But he has a dynamic in the game, he gets behind Tadic, he arrives, he works, he scores goals. Logically, I love De Jong and De Ligt. But the example of the operation of this Ajax is Van de Beek. I like very much.

I still don't understand the fascination about Diawara. He's not played regularly in a lesser league and while he has good midfielders in front of him, that's been the case for years now and he simply hasn't progressed and grabbed a regular spot for himself.
Granted he's the youngest of the batch over there, what do you see that makes you think he has what it takes to make it at Spurs?
Is he at the same level or better than Dembele? Winks? Sissoko? I'll argue that's not the case.

I am glad Herc is sharing info again and it is always appreciated. Given we haven't gotten one player signed in three winows, a "slim chance" likely means no chance, probably because the fee is too high and we won't spend the money. Hope I am wrong because Ndombele seems perfect - This summer's DeJong.

I honestly don't think he's good enough, he's rapid and looks dangerous but his end product is quite poor. Anyway I think he's staying at Monaco next season.

I live close to Sportings stadium so saw a fair bit of him last season and I was against signing him then.

Thankyou (y)

Chelseas transfer ban still stands according to FIFA which could have implications for this summers transfer window. I doubt Chelsea sell Hazard now for one which could mean that Real focus even more on Eriksen instead.
While I don't rate Eriksen as highly as most on here he's undoubtedly one of our most important players and I just don't see us paying enough to bring in a proper replacement if he goes.

They’ll sell hazard, they won’t let him leave for free next year

Didn't know he only had one year left. Unless by some miracle they manage to extend his contract by one year then yes, you're right. I can't see him leaving for free either

The ban will be lifted by CAS while they review the case. Then when CAS agrees to the ban it will be reintroduced, but that will be after this summer's transfer window and so Chelsea will just do three window's worth of business in one window.

It's exactly what happened to the three Spanish clubs who got hot by the same penalty.

Why do you want us to sign an established goalkeeper? Someone like Pope isn’t coming here to be a third keeper and it would be pretty harsh to make Gazzaniga a third keeper again. Promote a youth keeper to that role or sign someone old and/or cheap (like when United signed Grant or Chelsea signed Green).

For competition. At present we currently have Vorm as our third choice, who is a fine goalkeeper for backup and pressure on the others. Personally I'd go with David Button, purely because he's not only experienced but he came through the ranks with us so counts as one of the four academy trained players required should we need that number to spike. Giving the position to Whiteman if he isn't good enough is reckless. We need our backup goalkeeper to have just as much competition to develop him as we do our right back, defensive midfielder etc.

Replacing Vorm with an academy player who clearly isn't as good as Vorm seeing as Whiteman hasn't overtaken him in the pecking order yet is needlessly cutting corners, especially as our 3rd choice goalkeeper has had to be relied on at some stage at least once each of the last two seasons

That’s just described a fit and firing dele in a nutshell.

We don’t need Van de beek. We need a playmaker (Lo Celso) and a strong box to box destroyer (Ndombele)
