Maybe dropping out of the top 4 is the wake up call the board need.

Maybe the more I say it to myself, the more I'll start to believe it.

I can't think of a single game this season that Dier or Wanyama have played well let alone been outstanding. Based on this season alone I can't believe that Gomes could possibly have offered less. Dier for me is a centre back who can play midfield in an emergency and Victor is sadly finished at the top level. In fact both offered very little last season too.

I agree with you that Dier haven't followed up his early promises and that Wanyama seem past it (due to injuries) but that still doesn't make Gomes a DM :)

This crap about two approaches to transfers regarding CL qualification is exactly why we'll also be nearly men. The thing is we don't get CL imo we'd have to spend much more money. If we get CL will have to spend more money either way we need to spend.

Failure is a disease just like Fear (imo) we have far to many rotten players that have been part of that failure/fear going as far back as Lloris Vertonghen Rose.

Good post. Two approaches is accepted by the majority because of the stadium. Thing is, when convincing us the stadium was needed at no point did they say ‘player recruitment will be affected’. We were actually told the opposite. Problem is they forgot to add ‘player recruitment won’t be affected...we plan to buy nobody in the lead up to the stadium opening and not improve the side, so this will be continued once in the new gaff’

This is not aimed at JJ! But! We have been in CL for 4 seasons. With the way we conduct our business we couldn’t attract a fly to shit then, because of the way we operate. So though I have been hearing the same I am not enthused even if we win CL, or got to final, and remarkably still made top 4.

This is my view. We've been in the Champions League for 4 years and our purchases in that time have in my view been inferior to the players we bought in the previous 4 years without Champions League football. So to now say we need Champs league football to attract high quality players just doesn't ring true. We won't attract the top talent as we won't/can't pay the wages and we won't play the agents' game, simple as that.

I'm shocked to read what Hercules wrote to be honest, truly shocked.

We talk on here and other forums like we really know what is going on at Levy Heights when in fact we have not got a scooby.

It’s daft to think ‘the ‘powers that be’ are not as worried by our current situation as we all are.

They’ll be worried for different reasons, but they’ll certainly be worried.

Sleepless nights thinking about 22500 turning up for Qarabag in the group stage will be their biggest worry.

Perhaps the fans could organise a protest next season if we have yet another pathetic transfer window. Select a game early in the season and don’t buy a single drink or bit of food in the stadium.

The amount of times I heard people talking about how much money the club makes from food and drink at the new gaff already. Put that in the fvcking trophy cabinet!? The pour from the bottom pints are flat as a pancake too.

Jjetset. He wrote there would be 2 different approaches on transfer market depending on the fact if we are in CL next season or not.

Here in lies the stupidity of how we approach this. Immaterial of the competition we are in we should be signing players who fit the squad and will win us trophies. Besides was Llorente/Jannsen/N'jie/Nkoudo all CL level players.. Doubt it.

I think it is a BS way of doing things. Identify who you want negotiate NOW in the season with the clubs and sign them up by end of June. How FUCKING hard can that be. I'm tired of the B. S story about waiting for the Big clubs to do business. What horse manure is that. We too are a Big club.

ENIC are in the business of making money always have been and that will not change. Spunking 200 million on transfers is just not what they do however much we need it as it means the bottom line is affected.

There are players out there who would come to Spurs if we pay the going rate but we just don't pay that going rate. I desperately want that to change as I feel its truly the last piece of the puzzle for us. World class stadium and training facilities and manager alongside a core group of quality players that we currently have coupled with 3 or 4 big money proven talent acquisitions and we are rolling.

Could it happen maybe.... will Levy spend that money I doubt it. Balls deep big boy statement on players is just not his style. Imagine if it was just for a second.... imagine if it was.
