Unfortunately United will want him too, and even if we have CL and they don't, I can't see us beating them to a transfer.

Utd are a horror show of a club atm, we have arguably one of the best managers in the world at developing young players.

If we are serious about getting him, I think we've got a great chance.

The 3 things we may have in our favour with AWB are hopefully Champs league, he may want to stay in London and Poch has a great reputation developing youngsters. If we are willing to pay the fee, the wages and the agent then we have a great chance of signing him.

You are not just dealing with the player but his greedy agent too. If ManU really want him they'll pay a bigger transfer fee and maybe double the salary Spurs would offer him. Besides, ManU is together with Barca and Real M. the biggest clubs in the world.
I'll be very surprised if Spurs can take him away from ManU (but I hope they'll go for Trippier instead...)

Agree about man u
It’s not Man U the problem imo. It’s the fact he’s apparently an arsenal fan.

I really think that is the last thing he’ll be thinking about. He’ll have a team of professionals around him advising and plotting out his career, and they’d be stupid not to look at Poch as a good bet. I just think City will come in for him, to be honest.

The issue with Wan-Bissaka is that the club already has 3 senior/semi-senior RBs. Sell two of them and buy one, then yes, maybe Wan-Bissaka is an option.

Just for those judging Zaha purely by goals/assists, Benteke has scored his first goal for Palace the entire season today, Sorloth scored once this season before being loaned out in January and Milivojević is their top scorer who has scored 12 goals, mostly from penalties. Last season the entire Palace squad scored 50 goals in total in all competitions, compare that to Kane who scored 41 goals. Now add in Son, Dele, Lucas, Eriksen etc and with the extra space he'd be provided since he won't have 2 or 3 marking him every game, being alongside attacking players who are allowed to convert chances more than once a year and maybe just maybe he'd improve those numbers significantly. It's also disregarding the possibility of him improving at the club when we all know Poch can take players up a level so it is a real possibility he would push on if he joined.

The actual question is whether or not spending the money Palace would want (£70m+) is worth it given what's needed elsewhere, especially if Eriksen and Toby leave. I don't think so, however Zaha is a very talented player and I would like him here given a significantly lower price tag

Wilfried Zaha has scored eight away goals for Crystal Palace in the Premier League this season - only Tottenham's Harry Kane (11) and Leicester's Jamie Vardy (10) have netted more

Wan Bassika is an absolute must. He is already a beast defensively, you add him in to our team and we have such defensive improvement, i would easily spend 50m on him we would have a RB for years to come. No one runs past him easily, so impressed with him this year.

If we added, Grealish, Tielemans, Zaha and AWB who are all attainable it would add much need squad depth with real quality and from players who have minutes in the Premier League already. All four of these would make us so much stronger.

Bassika how much will he cost and along with the others you mentioned do we have the funds for all the that, now I'm not saying your wrong but where is this money coming from

Well, they are all OK but would all make us stronger? We have quite a few of squad rotation acceptable AMs, and don't need more in the Zaha-category. A player with traits like Grealish, who can mix it up between CM and AM, could be of interest but I doubt very much that Grealish is the correct specific candidate.

I'm optimistic that the potential for raising funds is there. Selling two RBs, a few AMs, a striker, and this and that, could lead to funds. Of course it's not easy to sell deadwood, but I'm certain lessons have been learned. :cautious:

Maybe so but all that lot need replacing along with other additional signings it's going to be tough.

It is obvious the top two are in a league of their own but I do think we are best placed to join them... the others will need to spend far more than we do to get to that level, I dont think we need to spend too much. I just would like us to bring in three or four really good quality players

Id really like us to challenge properly for the title and dont think we have any excuses and given the stadium is now in place... we should be able to.
