He was here as a young kid apparently.

I tried googling around and I can't find a single thing on it (admittedly I'm being bias as he looks good and I'm hoping Sandro is full of shit so what I want to happen will happen)

I think it’s in the youth thread. Someone knows his family or such forth.

Max Aarons, 19, Norwich City
After unsuccessful spells at Tottenham and QPR, the former Luton schoolboy arrived at Norwich on the same basis as a 16-year-old. Earmarked by academy staff as a future first-team right-back even before earning a contract, he was championed by the then youth coach Matt Gill after shining on tour in Latvia. Aarons, a cousin of the Newcastle winger Rolando, has not looked back since, establishing himself as a fixture in Daniel Farke’s high-flying side and winning four caps for England Under-19s since breaking into the team at the start of the season.

=[ Hopefully Poch can get in his ear.

Whether it's their positioning or the instructions that Poch gives them to play high up - the point is still true, without recovery pace it's a disaster waiting to happen.
I watched our FBs in detail yesterday and it is definitely true that Poch asks the FBs to play very high up the pitch. To make this work they need 2 things 1) as you say great recovery pace and 2) great end product so they force the opposition backwards. I don’t think either if our RBs have got these characteristics and while Rose has the former I’m not sure about whether he has enough of the latter. In an ideal world to make Poch’s system work we need much better quality FBs. Arguably this position is even more important than the CM position we all crave so much. Be secure defensively and a threat going forward from FB and our CMs get more time. Sissoko spends most of his time covering Trippier.

So Max Aaron’s wouldn’t be interested in coming to us? Shame, but move on with more effort on Wan-Bissaka, with KWP as second choice. Sell Aurier and Trips.

Trippier obviously does have end product - he's been statistically one of the most productive FBs in the league the last couple of years. And he plays some lovely balls down the inside right channel when not crossing. He’s just in wretched form at the moment, and we’re getting all his weaknesses without that cutting edge.

He's also a great weapon off the bench especially if we do go 3 at the back etc. If I'm making the call I'm upgrading Serge with somebody to overhaul and give Trips something to fight for.

Serge has had time and overall he just hasn't cut it.

Wan-Bissaka and Ferland Mendy would do wonders for our fullback positions. Wouldn't mind a whole reboot at the position, with another young LB coming in and maybe having Davies switch to LCB primarily, to avoid having to spend much at CB once Toby leaves. Sell Rose, Trippier and Aurier to fund those moves. We need more young dynamism with actual potential to, ya know, defend. Mendy reminds me of Rose quite a bit.

I think you have the tense wrong, Trippier had end product. Unfortunately it is pretty one dimensional and I think his poor form is as much due to opponents figuring him out as his WC hangover. Even at his best offensively he has been a poor defender, this year he has become a wretched defender.

This would be an absolute dream window if we managed to get these two. Unfortunately I cant see us even being able to bring in one of them.
Wan+Bissaka comes from a family of Gooners and Lyon are going to have people just throwing hundreds of millions at them for Ndombele, Aouar, and Fekir so they won't need/care to sell Mendy if they don't feel like it (nor do I think these players will see us as a step up from Lyon). So yeah we may all need to collectively move on.

I think that’s harsh. There’s probably a lot of things going on with him this season, a bit of physical and mental burnout from the WC and no preseason, opponents targeting him more, and a lack of confidence at the moment.

Whatever his shortcomings, he does have good delivery and vision from the flank. He’s proven it over time, and that doesn’t just go away.

Having said all of that, we really need to find a better RB, although his HG-ness makes him more desirable to keep than Aurier, who’s been a total bust, and needs to go in the summer.

I understand the money bit for Lyon, but there is no way we can’t be viewed as a step up. We snagged Hugo Lloris from them in his prime when we were at a lesser stature than we are now. Think it’s safe to say we have continued that upward trajectory whereas Lyon are much of the same as they were in 2012.

I really don’t think Aurier has been as bad as some people make out. I admit that he was very shaky at the start, but he’s nowhere near as bad as Trippier.

I’d definitely keep him over Trippier. It’s no secret that I want Trips gone and wouldn’t mind selling Davies either. Rose and Walker Peters should stay too, IMO.

Ive decided. To win the league we need just 2 player imo who gave very special skillsets to complete our team.

Banega
Sane

Just imagine kane son and sane on the counter being fed precisely by banega. Alli also on the tip of a 3 man midfield.

If dreams were real!

We're going to spend the entire Summer hoping that Levy does something with the fullbacks but I'd be shocked if Tripper isn't still here next season. He needs to go but Poch seems to love him and you get a sense that Levy and the decision makers at Spurs don't see him as a problem.
