To me, Lucas doesn't suit the English game. Don't mind him as a player, but he's either good or anonymous.

Lamela, along with being more robust, offers more centrally than Lucas does and has a better eye for a pass IMO...plus he signed a new contract last year, cant see him going tbh.

The PSG bargains don't seem to be bargains to me at this point and I don't feel either are worth the foreign player places they're using.
Reluctantly agree with you about Moura. He’s way too inconsistent and even non-committed at times. His pace doesn’t actually seem to offer us much- it’s like he’s reluctant to attack the space in front of him.

I also think Lamela’s time is up now- he’s become ponderous and largely ineffective.

We need fresh blood like Lozano, a player who knows how to use his pace and trickery. A front three of Lozano, Kane and Son would change the dynamic of how we play. Throw in a player like N’Dombele playing alongside Dele in front of a holding CDM and we can change our style of play in the absence of Eriksen and be dangerous and balanced

the thing is that isn't a guarantee. we could of spent £150m, and those players might of struggled to settle in the hardest and fastest league (was going to add physical, but that medal goes to the championship and below), they might of got a season ending injury their 1st game.

no 1 knows what might of been, had in store

There are no guarantees for sure. However the point im making here is proven quality like 2-3 players who are clearly making it at a higher level. Tielemans went for 22 million to Monaco.. ( seen JJ's comments though on Poch not having been interested), Brooks/Maddison *sp etc. There is quality out there at reasonable prices.

Like Rose said..stop buying players we have to Google. What amazes me is how our own supporters on here are able to spot talent and our scouts cannot.

In the 2017-18 scouting thread i heard of Ndombele, Sander Berge, theres a polish midfielder whose name escapes me now.

I could see one or both of them going in the summer actually. They both take up a HG place and could both be upgraded on. Even moving them on and bringing others in is the kind of squad freshening up we need to do.

Yeah I'm sure Josh (15) from Enfield is better at spotting talent than professional scouts who have setup scouting networks all over the world, I think there's a bit more to it than just turning on the Playststion and checking stats.

Probably been mentioned loads but would love to get Julian Brandt and feel he would be getable

Fee wise he is gettable - the only problem being that £22m release clause will probably attract bigger fish than us to the table.

As others have said though - there are interesting players available this summer that we could feasibly attract to our club. They can’t ALL move to those few teams who can blow us out of the water, surely...?

Wan-Bissaka
Tierney
Doucoure
Tielemans
Brandt
Grealish
Rabiot (less likely but he’s still available)
Lozano

The list goes on. Replacing the quality of Eriksen, Toby and Dembele in the short term is pretty much impossible. What we can do is replace that energy and verve we’ve lost in the last year or two and start getting in teams faces again. We need to start playing like the underdogs again because it’s what we are in reality.

I’d actually take Antonio Valencia on a one year contract for a right back/squad role. More reliable than any of our unreliable RBs currently and he’d bring some much needed experience and wouldn’t carry a transfer fee. Not an awful back up option at very least.

Sorry, we’re in a doom and gloom place at the moment because we’ve had a few losses, but I don’t believe this.

It’s all down to the correct recruitment in the summer. If we make the right signings, we’ll be right there next season.

Get it right, and we could see the squad reinvigorated by some fresh legs and minds, and put that together with the holy trinity of Kane, Son, Dele, the almost taken as given of Poch’s consistent ability to motivate and inspire, and the positivity of playing in one of the best stadiums in the world, and we can be born again.

Of course, get the recruitment wrong whilst losing Toby, Eriksen and still feeling Dembele’s departure, and we’ll be in trouble. But I don’t take it as a writtten yet.

I think this is the issue. I have been one of Levy’s biggest fans and don’t have a problem with keeping our net spend low.

But for me whatever the setup is with Poch and Levy I don’t currently have faith in us scouting and buying correctly.

Rabiot mentioned again? For the love of fuck why?! Exactly the type of character we don't want in the squad.

Because we’re all desperate for a quality midfielder, even a wrong’un will do at this stage. Anyway, not worth discussing as he’s too twattish to consider joining us in the first place.

Never knew he had a release clause, why is it so low?

Apparently he's the nephew of Roque Santa Cruz and Graham Souness helped set up the deal after receiving an email out of the blue.
