We're not spending 250m this window unless we're selling Kane for 300m.
.

Yes it wishful thinking i know. However i mention player sales and some injection of extra cash.

Basically we would need that kind of investment to make a real push for the title. Spending 150 million on replacing Toby and Eriksen if they leave and buying a CM to replace Dembele will still leave us light for next season.[/QUOTE]

In Sanchez and Foyth I feel Spurs good more than good enough replacements ready to step up and become regulars. However, if Toby leaves Spurs would need a CB cover - preferably a LCB (fex. Lloyd Kelly).

you do realise Levy can try and sell them if they don't sign new contracts, but he can't force them to sign for clubs that the players don't want to join.

if Eriksen wants RM/Barca only then Eriksen might just see his contract out.

with Toby and what @JJetset said, Spurs will be hoping an offer comes in, though not sure if Toby refuses to move to a club that matches his clause would change the stand off between Toby and Poch.

also in your scenario we will need to replace Jan too, as he will only have 1 more year to go. with Dembele gone, and Toby possibly then Jan might wish to go. I wished we would offer Jan a contract he can't refuse, and would love him to take over the captaincy from Lloris.

I think Kane will be the captain eventually

Brooks and Bisakka should be our main target along with a top class centre midfielder. If Toby goes then we need another centre back.

I know it was an example but I watch Lloyd Kelly quite regularly and I don’t think he’s what we need, he has potential to be a good player but I don’t think he will be a great player, he’s currently being kept out the side by jay dasilva who looks to be a very good player.

i haven't seen much of him but a few on SC are raving about him so I thought he may be the man...guess not then

Has anyone considered the possibility that we go another transfer window without signing anyone :playful:

If that happened I reckon Levy would have to employ a whole battalion of ninjas to look after him. But meh, ninjas schminjas, we'd employ Chuck Norris.

Okay going to try a 2nd time to respond went wonky the 1st time....

I've heard a lot of Lloyd Kelly, it's why I absolutely love this thread. The scouting in here is top notch.... Makes me wonder what our fricking scouts actually do.Dont get to watch any of the championship games so can't vouch for his talent.

We reaching a defining period where we need to freshen things up but more importantly plan ahead for the next 3 plus years and sign rising talent from Championship. Leicester and Bournemouth have been astute in this area in recent transfer windows.

We don't need to spend 70 mill ion on a player. Just be more astute & decisive in getting our targets EARLY and not in the last week of the window.

I haven't seen much of him, so genuine question, is he good enough going forward?

He averages 0.4 key passes per game and our current fullback who is lowest in that stat (Davies) has 0.7.

I realise that different teams styles have different priorities etc but Palace's LB (van Aanholt) averages 1 key pass per game, which is the same as Rose and better than Aurier.

He started out at Palace as a forward so would show more in a possession stronger team, in a team like Palace he isn't going to get the same opportunities to show what he can do going forward then he would at us, as you said different styles between us. The key for me is just how good he is defensively, he should be number 1 priority on our list this window.

Even BSoDL would turn on him. Imagine the sight of that.

Lloyd Kelly is one i really hope we are keeping an eye on as well. Same great potential in the championship and i always hope each season we at least look to buy one player from there. There is little downside really.

TBF a few already have and a few more are on the verge :D I think there are still a few diehards around though, plus the bloke with the thank you Daniel Levy banner, who I strongly suspect is related to him :D

Fully agree. Names that have popped up other than Grealish are Daniel James, Lloyd Kelly, Jarrod Bowen, Max Arrons and the Leeds kid Clark (can't remember his name... Lee or James).

Last season quite a few on here kept going on about David Brooke's and Maddison etc. Supplement signing like the aforementioned with some REAL prime quality signings and we'll be okay.

Half the squad would be medically dead by Christmas if that happened

Fair few in the Championship I wouldn't mind getting either.
Must be some that would make it but we need to err on the side of caution. Just had a blues fan with me and asked about Che Adams who he thinks is decent but will never make top 6 pl.

AWB is going to be a world class rb, he's absolute mustard.

We have to go all out for him this summer.

Yeah agree with this completely. Need to do what we did for Sanchez and go big early. The fact we can recoop a large amount of the fee with the sale of Trippier makes it a no brainer. How much do people think AWB will cost? 50m?
