I really liked the look of Zaha today. I think he’d be a superb signing for us if we could get him.

Really wouldn't mind Zaha. Think he would fit well, but perhaps lamela needs to be pushed aside for it to happen, or find a new position for him. I'd love a proper South Londoner in the team, and I know 3 sets of people independently of each other who know him very well.. So a good chance of the odd ticket ?. I'm sad about lamela, and thought the way he started the season that this would be his real breakthrough following injury but alas... Maybe for his own sake he would be better off in Italy once more.

Come on you can't believe that. I love Sane, but something must be seriously wrong with his attitude considering Pep doesn't start him and being dropped or Germany last summer.

Pep is a bit of a strange guy, you never know why... id still get him over Zaha any day.

Id love to put in an audacious bid and see what happens. They may tell us to fuck off but you never know.

I am just not a fan of Zaha so im sure that is influencing my view... one thing is for sure, we definitely need a player with pace akin to either of those.

And Harvey fucking Barnes :banghead:

I bloody well will make you all see the light :finger:
OK, you can have Harvey Barnes, but he's coming out of your own money.
It doesn't grow on trees you know and we can't buy you everything just because you want it.
You've got to learn the value of money, young man.

I think it’s two left this summer.

If he pushes for a move then maybe, yes. Though City can afford to keep him dangling and let's face it city will always be challenging for the quadruple pretty much every year. If there's a clash of personality then maybe there is an out door.

I think you are undervaluing Sissoko and what he has done this year. Yes he has covered trippier, but that's in addition to the driving, the combating, the breaking lines very quickly, which is very valuable. He breaks lines faster than dembele did and creates different opportunities because of this. Without moussa we are not in the champions league semi final, in fact I would say without him we don't get out the group.

The players love him too, which is underestimated. Let's not push him aside so fast. Yes I think tielemans would be a good signing, but he has to earn his place. Moussa has been a monster this year, he deserves more.
He breaks lines, but more often than not fluffs the decisive pass. Look, he’s been a proper warrior this season, and I’d keep him as a squad player, but if we can add someone who can break lines with quick vertical passes we’d instantly be a much better side.

Can't believe Sane's name is even being mentioned!

I'm certainly not massive on Zaha, not like how I may have been in the past and especially as the team could probably move forward more with that money spent on strengthening other positions. But in saying that I was thinking today, that if more attacking potency was an aim for us in the window, someone like Zaha would almost cover for two needs. Either him or Son could play central in Kane's absence and he could still be present when Kane would be there too. Guess it depends on how much we want to play with a target man similar to Kane when he's not there. It may just be a more worthwhile target than finding the perfect Kane backup we seem to be struggling so much to find.

Yeah, I think Lamela has had his time here. He’s had his moments, but it’s an obvious area of the squad for us to upgrade.

Far too soft in midfield- like City without Fernandinho
Exactly. Moving Tielemanns in the hole and actually bringing on a proper 6/8 hybrid next to Winks would actually work. But Winks + Tielemanns in the CM2 (with the added defensive 'heft' of Dele) is a recipe for disaster.

I do like Zaha, and I do think him and Son either side of Kane is bloody terrifying for any defence. I just worry that we would spend so much on him that we wouldn’t fix the glaring holes in centre mid.
Sissoko has indeed been fantastic this season, but he’s run himself into the ground, Winks is great but does have a tendency to pick up knocks, Dier has had bad luck with injuries but there has been a number of times this season that we have really been down to the bare bones and had to scratch around and play players in unfavourable positions.
As I say, like Zaha, but I don’t want him at the expense of fixing what we need to.

Exactly. This is a hard one. And those are the factors scouts and managers/head-coaches have to consider and figure out when they buy a player - factors that may be off-field rather than on-field. The guy's certainly got talent and he could (key word: could) shine if he came to Spurs. But there's a costly risk, of course. But that goes with most of the costly players anyway.
F.ex. Mahrez was excellent in his 1st season at Everton Leicester but then faded, particularly when he came to ManC....while Kante continued to excel and improve at Chelski. While Salah flopped at Chelski but turned into a world class player at Liverpool.

Then in those type of matches put in Dier or Sissoko. When we’re playing pressing teams like City or Liverpool, play players who can get out of tight spots like Winks and Tielemans.

AWB is going to be a world class rb, he's absolute mustard.

We have to go all out for him this summer.
I haven't seen much of him, so genuine question, is he good enough going forward?

He averages 0.4 key passes per game and our current fullback who is lowest in that stat (Davies) has 0.7.

I realise that different teams styles have different priorities etc but Palace's LB (van Aanholt) averages 1 key pass per game, which is the same as Rose and better than Aurier.

I disagree. That did not work for city with far better players. You need a physical presence in that midfield.

Besides Poch had supposedly turned down Tielemans.
