I'd be surprised if Doucoure isn't on any potential list.

Has all the attributes we would be looking for a dembele replacement, including PL experience. If the fanciful names that get banded around don't come to fruition then I could definitely see him being an option. Him and Sissoko in midfield would be a handful

He’s a good player, it’s just that City and Liverpool have set the standard so high this year that if we’re to bridge the gap we’ve got to somehow unearth a couple of special players from somewhere, particularly in midfield. And I don’t think he’s in that category.

It's gonna be a massive summer, we need a great deal of investment on the pitch or we will fall behind teams that we've outpunched for the last few years. Don't kid yerselfs, it's a massive window. Mon ya bauld wee fanny, get the checkbook out

Not that my reply was aimed at you but more of the general consensus around transfers, I do agree that we are always somewhat responsible for deals not going through. However in the case of last summer, We had De Jong, Maddison and Brooks being looked at however we didn't sign any of these players and all three came down to the players decision and not ours. I'm pretty sure there will be others that were never mentioned that fell through for the same reasons.

I do feel however that in the upcoming window we will have a shift of policy, and the way in which we do business.

Levy is an extremely shrewd businessman, but he is also extremely intelligent. He knows what we need to take that next big step and I have faith that he will be able to deliver that. He took us from a mid to lower level team all the way up to the top 4, with a world class stadium. No one could've predicted that climb and growth for our club and I really feel like the man deserves credit and patience where it is due. Everything he has done so far has worked out in our favor.

I know that's hard to believe after the last 2 windows, but I really feel like things will be different this time. I won't get my hopes up until the ink dries, but let's see how things pan out once the season is over and done with.
I don’t believe we were in for Maddison at all. He is a lightweight Eriksen mini me plus he has personality issues. Poch is generally wary of misfits although Aurier May have been an exception.

The only one I really want is Ben Foster, just so we don't have to play against him ever again. Plays a blinder every single time, and wastes about 45 minutes of every game.

And to do that, within our budgets (wages and transfer fees, not to mention agent fees) and have them immediately perform is incredibly difficult. For the right price I wouldn't be against it. If Eriksen goes then I completely agree that we need someone special to replace him, but in reality we need 2 CM/AM in the summer. Especially if Eriksen does go.

Doucoure and Havertz/Brooks (Maybe Grealish too if we're greedy) would be an amazing window.

I've said this before, but I think it all boils down to what style of football and how we're going to set up next season. This in turn will influence the type of central midfielder that we may buy.

For instance, if we have our excellent attacking players firing on all cylinders and add a couple of dangerous full-backs into the mix, we can get away with having a couple of fairly solid, yet unspectacular, CMs sitting in front of the back four. Of course, this is applicable if we want to finish in the Top 4 next season, as opposed to aiming for a title shot. If that's the case, then we're going to have to sign a top-draw CM.

Currently we've got Dier, Winks , Sissoko, Wanyama and Skipp as our main options in this area. All offer something a bit different, although I wouldn't say any of them are world-class passers of the ball and certainly none of them are a real goal-scoring threat.

Personally, I'd like to see us go for a Sissoko MkII; an athletic player who is quite happy to burst forward with the ball, with power and aggression. Being able to hit the target once in a while, would also be nice.

Alternatively, we could try and find a Modric-like metronome; an outstanding passer who is brilliant at recycling possession of the ball. Not sure if there are too many of these players around tbh.

Anyway, it'll be interesting to see what Poch does this summer. I just hope we can find some players he wants!!

Pretty sure Welsh players count as home-grown

And anyway, Swansea count as an 'English' team because they play in the English league
James isn't even Welsh by birth. He's English, from Yorkshire. He's qualified for Wales through his dad.

EDIT: You also have the HG issue for CL, like we have with Davies. I think James is HG in both PL and CL.

Would love either Brooks or Brandt to come in. Unsure of how much they would cost
Brandt would be the cheaper option IMO, but I really really really want Brooks in our squad.

Brooks did just sign a new deal though, running until 2022. Deal was signed in March, so either he is staying for at least another season or it was a contingency by Bournemouth to ensure they get fair value for him if he does move this summer.

Current Transfermarkt value is at £18 Million, but he will probably move for closer to £40 Million including add ons and bonuses.

The kid could become a world class player under Poch. If there's any luxury signing I really want us to make, its Brooks.
