Did anyone else sit back and wonder how our 'leaders' felt this evening watching the Arse play outstanding football and score seven (SEVEN) against a side that has had some decent results this season. Oh, and with a side whose average age is 23 (outfield players).

Gotta say, my gooner mates are getting a damned sight better value for money on their season ticket than I am right now (and have done for some considerable time ....)

The paedo has had the courage to drop his #1 keeper and to play players in their natural psoitions. Not exactly rocket science ...

Rosicky? Hleb? Diaby?

But yes, an awesome result. When you've had 10 years to build up your system, starting from a rock-solid foundation, it does make life relatively straightforward.

They are building a team with pace and tecnique in every position, and they are not thinking about defending a lead or protecting a lead. That is the main difference. We have some good players at Tottenham too, but we need to think about attacking the opposition and play our game. We should not have that respect for the opponent, we can play good football if we want too.

We should think that we are 2-0 down when the match starts, because we usually play better after conceding a goal or two. If we cut out this defensive thinking strategy, we have the chance to see a massive change in our play. Personal errors is a matter of this defensive thinking strategy.

Really, it didn't look to work last season when we really was goal or two down

That play better with a goal down business only works when the team is midtable, with the sole exception of Chelski last year. That's with King available and we were pretty much penned in our half for 15 min towards the end. Could easily have been 2-2.

Good post. I agree.

I said much the same to a mate a weeek or two back. We WILL concede from a set-piece (90% of the time a corner), so lets assume we're 1 down and go from there.

Was it not Perryman who said 'Get the equaliser before the other lot score'. Makes a lot of sense (in a nonsensical kind of way).

Wenger was interviewed on french tv last night after the game, he came out with some good valid points why the Arse are playing well this season.

1/ He was forced to buy youngsters as it was an economic choice by the club, so even if he wanted to buy Eto, Ronaldhino etc. he couldn't.

2/ Since Henry was injured towards the end of last season and now since he has left, each player in the actual squad has had to take his own responsability on the field, as the Arse relyed heavily on Henry's talent the individuals have started to be their own play makers thus the fluid football as each player is trying to create.

Wenger also agreed that his board had not pressured him from the start to get things turned around, so he had the time to build his team and it payed off as we all know what happened.

To give the paedo his dues, what he's done down at the Woolwich is nothing short of brilliant. It's worked because it's been one man with the vision and leadership to implement a system that really works from the top down. His board have let him get on with what he does best and stuck to the business side.

I liked the idea of our DOF system, but I no longer believe it will work. Possibly it is the people involved - Arnesen set things up well, but I don't have the same confidence in Comolli. I think Arnesen had the football knowledge, the experience and the vision to establish a dynasty for us and especially to really sort our coaching and youth policy. My opinion of Comolli is that he's a good scout, with most of his experience in France. I just don't think he's the man to run this club from the top.

You can always rely on those ****s to kick us, whether we’re down or up. In 91 we won the F.A. Cup, they win the league. In 99 GG takes the plaudits for our cup win and they eventually snatch the fucker who lifts the cup. And those are are high points. ****s.

Completely agree. Edelman runs the money side of the business and Whingy is in charge of everything football. He stands and falls by his results, and cannot blame poor transfer policy on someone else. I can't help but feel that Spurs is set up in an all-too-familiar fashion to the generic plc - in order that the directors can cover their asses.

Levy - MJ, I backed you with £40m and you've not delivered.

Jol - I blame Comolli for not giving me the players I wanted.

Comolli - I bought good players, morale and tactics are down to you Martin.

All valid arguments and, I fear, exactly what we'll see in the press shortly when the vitriolic tit-for-tat tales start circulating
