Not surprisingly I haven’t heard from her in a while ? he also guessed at it being DBS or OCBC. Seems a bit random for he just to come out with.
DBS are pushing an international presence and last year awarded Best Bank in the World by some financial media. This sort of partnership would certainly put DBS more in the European spotlight, rather than just an Asian bank

I also understand why nobody wants their name attached when the delays and issues were happening - accepting we may have lost some dosh/paid interest along the way.
...
Agree and depending on events over the next few weeks, the £ could drop a fair way.
Even if it were only by a few %, that is not to be sneezed at if the price of sponsorship is the best part of £100m up front. Or more.

Honestly, don't really mind a flash of Red logo on the stadium, as it is money in the coffers for transfers ( think we can all agree that some serious money needs to be spent this summer)

Yay, more red logos.

If we're sponsored by nike the Swoosh will most likely be a glowing White one.

Not AIA?

Edit: DBS and OCBC both from Singapore. Spurs visiting Singapore in July. Sponsorship announcement being made in the summer. Hmm...

Wow an Asian bank sponsorship is so incredibly boring that it’s actually very plausible.

I’ve had a strong suspicion for a while it would be a relatively unknown name to the majority of us. Somebody with huge amounts of money in the east that wants to raise their profile in the West makes a lot of sense. Also seems a bit odd that we’ve veered away from the states this summer just when the NFL is about to kick in. So it all kind of does add up.

Unless it is a name very familiar with us.

The revenue streams for an Asian based business looking to expand are potentially huge compared to an established brand in the West.

Firstly you attach your name to one of the most talked about stadiums at present, secondly it's a team who has seen their profile rise drastically over the last 4-5 years, thirdly it's the Premier League and finally the NFL attachment automatically drops them not just into potential European markets but American markets as well.

The NFL deal would all of a sudden open not just our market in Britain or Europe but it also opens doors in the states. If an Asian company is looking to expand I doubt there are many better opportunities than this stadium at present. I fully expect a red logo based on Asian tradition but equally I'd fully expect a huge windfall for our troubles. With rumours of a permanent NFL team or a potential Super Bowl in the future/ Champions League Final an Asian brand would be willing to pay far more than a relatively maturer European or American brand IMO

Had lunch today with a family member. He is well positioned to get info and see no reason why he should lie to me. But still pinch of salt and all that. But he seems convinced deal is done will be announced in summer and it’s an Asian financial institution. And the numbers are staggering.

Something from Thailand please...

Frankly...

DBS/OCBC is totally out of the question.

both are government back banks, they won't go anywhere near a 20M per year sponsorship deal.

the most they will do is buy some advertising. which is also unlikely since their target market isn't the UK/Europe.

Pretty sure that them being owned and backed by the government is a grey area. You may well be right but I don't think what you're saying is 100% fact.

They are run by sovereign wealth. Which is exactly what the Etihad is so what’s the difference ?

I agree, we did it with Mansion when we pulled their pants down on the shirt sponsorship deal, who’s to say we won’t try and do it again with a bank on the stadium sponsorship.

Potential purchaser too perhaps ?
