Seems strange for a media guy to announce something so major, with such officious confidence, and for it to be completely wrong.

However, it is Richard Keys we're talking about. It's possible that he dreamt it all the night before, staggered into the studio wearing nothing but a pair of piss stained y-fronts, and told everyone that he had inside info on the new Spurs stadium.

On balance, I'm leaning towards the latter explanation.

I can live with the Nike stadium although will still be called The Lane

No spurs fan will call it whatever its called. To us it will always be the lane. I would suggest that might scare a sponsor off, but the home fanbase alone means fuck all to sponsors.

If MP and the players kept referring to it as the Nikey Stadium for instants, then we would eventually fall in line. It is not an unpleasant name.
