The article is plain wrong as He didn't join Barcelona, they offered him a contract but he never joined them. Went straight from River Plate to Italy IIRC

Stambouli edged it for me but definitely agree that Lamela wasn't MOTM- so half an agree ;)

Bale took a hell of a lot of shit and stick for quite a while from fickle fans and idiotic press knobheads.

Lamela would appear to be getting the same treatment.

Lamela was MOTM IMO. He completely changed the game when he came on- closely followed by Soldado and then Stambouli and Kane.

I have no idea why people say Kane was man of the match to be honest. He didn't really do much IMO but he still got into good positions and was better than most of the others.

His play this year so far reminds me of Eriksen last year: great in the early stages of the Europa League & League Cup, but still adapting to the rigors of the EPL.

Because he was consistently our best player over the 90 minutes, and probably completed more passes than Lamela has in his whole career at Spurs??? Lamela came on and scored, fairplay, and then showboated for the rest of the half.

He also seems to have some blind followers amongst us. Talent is there but the application isn't working for me.

I like Lamela, but can we have some perspective.
He was great against 2 poor teams and then not good enough against an EPL team.

He needs to carry his ability though week after week into the premiership and not just against poor Europa League or Carling Cup teams.

He has it in him I'm sure.

I voted him MOTM and I know sweet FA - but it was more a sympathy/enthusiasm vote after the Newcastles no show.
