Needs a loan but if I'm honest I just don't think he will ever be good enough to be a regular with us.

He’s too slow and too weak. The best full backs are generally either fast, strong or both.

He’s decent on the ball, but so was Kyle Naughton. KWP’s ceiling is about the same.

Those mistakes are the type he should have been making and learning from 2 years ago as back up, instead we spunked 25m on a reserve to sit ahead of him, and now it looks like all 3 of our options are duds...

The best modern fullbacks are strong, aggressive and powerful. It’s not KWP’s fault, but he’s simply not blessed with those qualities, or any notable pace.

That’s why I don’t think he’ll make it with us. For me it’s not really any more complicated than that.

To improve the first team, we need full backs with at least a couple of those qualities, as our goal should be to return to the Walker/Rose style from 3 seasons back, with two aggressive, powerful wing backs. This is when we played our best football under Poch.

It’s a shame for KWP, of course, as he seems like a decent, well-grounded kid. Plenty of players go on to have solid careers in lower level Prem or Championship sides though, and i’m sure the same will apply to him.

If we still had a badass RB like Walker was KWP would be a fine backup. But if we are going to rotate them every other game I don't feel comfortable doing that with him at this point.

KWP either needs a fully trusted run in the team to play out the mistakes or a year on loan. Giving him 1 in 20 games isn't fair on him or the team. There is a good player in there but he's not being given the correct platform to succeed.

Exactly. The coaches are failing him and the team. How is it right that whether he makes a mistake or not, he never sees the pitch again yet someone else in his position continuously starts even though he’s consistently shipping costly goals and making mistakes almost every game?

Well, one up-side is that KWP will likely work twice as hard to learn from his errors. He already struggles to get game time and I can see him being a pest in training this week to show both his teammates and the coaches that he's improving and willing to work hard to help the team. I'm not sure he'll get many more starts this season but a good loan next season ( unless we plan on selling one of Aurier/Trippier) would be the best move for his development.

In my opinion he is not a premier league quality player and may succeed in a lower division but I believe he is not strong enough for any of our divisions and would be slaughtered in the championship.
perhaps a move to Holland or France where the physical demands are less and would allow him to show his ability.

This is really it. He's barely played for two years (445 minutes last year, 525 minutes this year across all competitions). How is he going to develop with such limited exposure to competitive football? He can obviously work on his strength, but a lot of his mistakes could be classified as in-game speed of thought and decision-making lapses (Dembele picking his pocket, handball vs. Palace, reading runs vs. Southampton). I'm not sure I really see that improving without more exposure to competitive matches. Hell, even some U-23 games this year could've helped with match sharpness. If he appears to be heading into next year as the clear #3 on the depth chart, I hope he's give a loan somewhere.

He needs to leave for his own good, now Poch even plays a CB at RB before playing him

KWP desperately needs a loan to a Sheffield Utd or someone similar if they come up, it's obvious that he's not currently in Poch's plans which is a shame.

Sheffield Utd have a better RB in George Baldock already.

Fulham would be a good move for him though

He needs to leave permanently not getting loaned out. If Sheffield United gets promoted which it looks like it wouldn’t be a bad move for him

Why does he need to leave permanently? I agree he needs matches to gain more experience but he'll get that when he goes on loan.
