So how do youngsters get blooded ? We have to take the risk or close down the Academy.
So apparently just because he had a poor 2nd half he won't ever make it with us, interesting take on things, nothing knee jerk about that at all.
I think this is the crux of the issue.I don't think it's necessarily knee jerk, he's been sitting there for 2 seasons without Poch giving him any real opportunities, when he's come in he has struggled (which I think is Poch's fault) which means Poch is unlikely to give him too many more chances. How is it knee jerk in that scenario to come to the conclusion that he's likely not going to be given the chances to succeed at spurs?
Best case scenario I see is him going out on Loan and making us look stupid so we have to give him another opportunity, because his development is being ruined by us.
How about giving him a run of ten or so games before writing him off ?
I think this is the crux of the issue.
Could be wrong but he appears to have very good potential but currently not at the level to play for a top six Prem side.
The club need to know what is best for him as not every player thrives in the same way.
Will he get to level if he continues training hard and get sporadic performances? Is a six month Championship loan going to get him there?
Maybe he needs to leave, get regular football and build his career more slowly.
As per my previous posts the development of players and how to get them to top six level is our challenge.
He was great in the first half up and down the line and showed me, personally, that I maybe wrote him off a little too early.I knew this would happen . Trippier has a bad game, everyone calls for KWP. Aurier has a bad game, everyone calls for KWP. KWP finally starts and has a bad game and.......

I'd hate him to get a loan in the championship, surely he can get in as RB at one of the bottom 10 clubs otherwise why have we kept him hanging on for 2 years, I feel like we've failed him tbh, I don't know how good he can be but he's not been given the opportunity to succeed and we should have either given him chances, loaned him out or sold him completely. Not stuck him in once every 20 games, I don't see how he can ever become first choice at spurs when his formative years are being wasted in this fashion.
He's been sitting there for 2 years because he's had more senior and experienced right backs in front of him - not his fault.
Also he hasn't really struggled when he's come in has he, that's clearly nonsense.
It's kree jerk because people once again are writing a young player off based on one match, actually based on 45 mins even. The whole team capitulated and more senior players should be taking the brunt of the criticism but to single him out is bollocks.

No I agree it's not his fault, I think the club have stunted his development though and he has struggled to be fair, he's played 4 games. One fantastic game vs Bournemouth followed by Barca, Palace and Southampton. He has struggled in all 3 and my issue is that after each game he has to wait another 15-20 for another game instead of being able to kick on. I struggle to see however in the final 10 games how he's going to get another opportunity which makes me concerned for him come summer. I agree that more people are at fault for this result than him and I'd start with Rose and Kane to be honest but as a poster said they have bags of good performances under their belt where people aren't going to be a critical.
prior to yesterday he'd made three starts in the league with three wins, two clean sheets, three mom awards(whether you agree with them or not, just stating a fact) and five assists, so he hasn't struggled every time he's played. he has had some good games and some not so good ones, a mixed bag ultimately but i don't know how you can really expect anything different given the lack of experience and game time he's had. aurier has had plenty of rough outings but people still say(rightly or not) that he needs a run of games before deciding on him but it seems that doesn't apply to kwp.

I think it is very optimistic to expect any top ten Prem side to loan him and play him regularly.
