I just can’t stand that god-awful advert Woods made for Nike a while back. Recreated his deceased father’s voice in order to make money selling trainers after behaving like a complete arsehole. It was utterly sickening and I find it very hard to root for him in any way to be honest.

You can forgive infidelity and majorly messing up. But then cashing in on it? Eurgh.

The wonderful world of sport where we build our heroes into iconic figures then relish tearing them apart just to remind them they are mortal.
Now Tiger Woods will be cheered on and the history slate is wiped clean.
Wonder how much success he'll be allowed second time around before the clouds gather and his demons/critics return ?
As a sportsman he is simply unique but let's not forget his pitiful TV apology to his friends and family because he let his dick rule his head.
His sponsors will now come flooding back and all will be as it was.......for now.

He didn’t kill anybody. He didn’t even commit a crime did he?

His private life is that. I’m no fan of him because he’s just a bit of a twat with not much personality, but he’s one of the ATG golfers. It’s an incredible comeback

I totally agree...but he was the one who put his "private" life on show in an attempt to hold on to his lucrative sponsorship contracts. He is a superb golfer who has battled through injury to get here today and I salute him. I am simply saying how quickly the fans turn into baying wolves in sport....and vice versa

I agree it’s an incredible sporting story. And I agree that his personal life isn’t something we really have any right on. But if he then puts words into his dead father’s mouth, in order to address his infidelities (and retain a lucrative financial contract), then it makes me not like him much.

He already had a comeback since the personal stuff with that great year in 2013, fans never really were that bothered by it all.

Unleashing all the emotion that he held in all day on the 18th green. That was so good. So so good.

So happy for him

Got to say that was great to watch. All that emotion. This is what sport is all about.
