I’m sure I read a report a couple of months ago that the Swiss has been doing well at youth level. Maybe they are one to keep an eye on for players as if they are any good they’ll be in decent or semi decent leagues.

I thought Dier had a good game. Very solid and didn’t try to do too much. Something he does for us on occasion and when he does I think that’s when he struggles for us.
You may need to take of your Dier specs. He was just as slow lumpy and pointy as he has been doing for Spurs recently. I really think he is overrated by both the Spurs and England team Management. Saying that I might just be wearing my Anti Dier specs as I just do not rate him.

I just do not rate Sterling at all...his conversion rate to chances is abysmal...his goals scored to games played as an international striker questions his selection surely ???

Not just the myriad of chances missed - for me that is just half the story. The pundits and commentators drone on about his 'headless chicken' forays up field drooling about some perceived causing panic and mayhem in the opponents defence. I just don't see it that way. all too often he just runs into trouble and loses possession. He never seems to manage to lay the ball off and rarely, if ever, does a goal come of it. Even many of his goals are no more than tap ins.

This new England team with many new youngsters looks exciting and, in my humble opinion, deserve to be given the chance - especially in his place.

The DM is reporting the two England payers are being investigated for doing coke at a party.

Quite a few of ours are in the England team.. ??

Apologies if this has been discussed in another thread already.

I could only find an article about one England player doing it at a drink up with his club over Xmas.

This quote - ‘But the incident caused a rift within the dressing room. They said the team had been suffering from 'bad results' on the pitch and it had happened at 'the worst possible time'.

.... suggests it isn’t one of ours. Out results have been great. Maybe a Man U player or a smaller club. If it’s even true.

The article I saw only talked about one player, but the headline was "second England player..."

You're right, the description of the team doesn't sound like us. It also says that the manager was there. I think Potch would have kicked them out of the team if it was any of ours.

Why the surprise. In the circles top professional footballers move in , drugs will be freely available. I’m surprised very few are ever caught or is the truth that football sweeps it under the carpet. Jake Livermore was caught and was suspended by his club but no punishment from the FA.

His son had died during birth. Livermore was depressed and took cocaine to deal with it. The FA was sympathetic

And as horrible as that is and I sympathise. Doesn’t give him an excuse to take cocaine. A friend of mine. Her daughter died last May, couple weeks shy of her first birthday. She hasn’t turned to cocaine. I know people cope differently, but he knew full well what he was doing. Be sympathetic on the loss of his child. Not because he took cocaine because of losing his child. Should’ve still been banned.

Utter bullshit, you have no idea what he was going through, for all you know cocaine could have been the escapism he needed.

Maybe he knew what the consequences were but he didn't use his daughter's death as an excuse to snort some coke.

Never said I knew what he was going through. But I’m seeing someone go through it and she doesn’t use cocaine to escape.

And using cocaine to escape it, is no fucking excuse either. Despite the circumstances he should’ve still been banned for at least a year.

But you've already acknowledged that people cope differently so why a should it be any different for him?

And coke is hardly a PED anyway so it's not as if he was using it to gain an advantage over anyone, the guy lost his kid so you'd think that some sympathy would have been shown and thankfully it was.

Your opinion on this is really wierd.
