If there's still anyone out there who doesn't think this is a hundred times better than international friendlies I don't understand any more.

Still think the competition is a stupid idea in that some small teams that arnt good enough to qualify against better teams will end up in the euros. But agree that the competitive edge is better than friendlys

He's a class act and him and Stones is the England centre back partnership for years to come. Little bit of inexperience from them for the goal today but they'll learn. Intelligent lads and fantastic footballers.

I would have McGuire in instead of Gomez for now, slab head is alright for me ?

Don't think it'll be that drastic. The playoff winners from A and B will definitely be decent. From C it'll be one out of Israel/Scotland/Finland/Greece/Norway/Bulgaria/Serbia/Romania - not fantastic teams but it wouldn't be a huge shock for any one of them to qualify normally for a 24 team tournament. The only really out-of-place team may be the League D Playoff Winners but I think giving them one spot out of 24 is more than worthwhile conisdering the benefits of all those nations actually have truly competitive and meaningful games - and whoever gets it will have had to top a group of four teams then win two knockout matches to get there, they might not be the highest quality but they'll at least have to have some nous. We saw the likes of Northern Ireland, squads which don't have much obvious talent, make the knockouts last time, the bar isn't exactly sky-high to begin with.

It gives those giants of european football Luxembourg the chance to make the Euros. I'm not averse to giving 1 spot, as a reward. It'll also be a piece of history for them.

I only saw the 2nd hf.
A few things annoyed me.
1st, Croatias goal. What the fuck was that? I've never seen any defence at any level allow someone to take 10sec to set their bloody shot up without putting a challenge in. And then doving in so you're sat on your arse! Teach u8s not to do that.
2nd, I found it very frustrating watching us 1.0 down and needing to win but playing like we were running the fkin clock down. Sideways, backwards, sideways, backwards. Totally static. Which brings me onto my 3rd gripe. These players (bit like spurs recently) do realise Kane is a goal machine yes???? They make no effort to get the ball to him at all in or around the box. He touched the ball about 3 times the 2nd half. Put it in the fkin box and he'll score. He cant do much when Dier and the defence are taping it around between them. He should be the focal point of this England team. Alli and Lingard should have started imo.
Good result but wasnt impressed.

Does Sterling have incriminating pictures of Southgate?
Sterling might frustrate with his decision making at times but he's an absolute nightmare for defences and Southgate's making that front three of Kane with the pace of Rashford and Sterling very very dangerous.

There's a reason Sterling is almost always picked by Pep for City.

I thought Dier had a good game. Very solid and didn’t try to do too much. Something he does for us on occasion and when he does I think that’s when he struggles for us.

There were a few times today when Croatia players were favourites to get to a loose ball, but when they saw Sterling going for it they just backed off rather than going for the ball.

Will Eng players be back at spurs earlier than usual then? As there isn't a midweek game.

I think England are technically entitled to keep them till Wednesday and do training, team-building or whatever but fingers crossed common sense prevails.
