It's like Southgate has replaced the team with Sunderland minus JD. Playing shit these last 15mins.

Lukas Podolski hugs Joachim Low as they pump in some emotional music for his farewell. Like an 80s movie. Ghost maybe."

1. It was Gladiator.
2. Ghost is a 90's film. Just.

Don't know why Defoe doesn't just retire, he's scored more than Lingard, Vardy and Rashford combined this season and is left watching from the bench yet again

This is a friendly though so the manager is using it to experiment with a few players. Hopefully he'll get a chance against Lithuania. Thinking about it I might have a bet on him getting the last goal.

Harsh result. Up until the goal England were the better team (though Germany were strolling a bit with the Podolski testimonial feel it had) and had two or three really good chances. After going behind had all the subs and that killed any momentum in the last 15-20 mins as Germany saw it out very comfortably.

Some positives to take from that, but a frustrating result after the first hour or so of the game.

Hopefully he gets a game against Lithuania but it's still a slap in the face when. Luke Shaw's getting put on

Only watched it because the wife has been on the phone for the last three hours, I thought for the first 60 mins we created the only chances in that time and were the better team.
Kane up top and we'd have had two...

With that goal, Cahill wusses out and turns his back to it; if he had stood square it would have at least deflected off him. Typical Chelsea player bottling it for England.

Vardy shouldn't be near the squad. What works (sometimes) for Leicester is not a good ingredient for an ambitious England team.

I thought he was our weakness during our long spells of dominance.. He doesn't have the footballing intelligence to be the most advanced player, and even though he tries hard, he lets the team down because he can't seem to read their game, he's always looking for the long ball to chase and offers little else.

Overall thought it was a good performance from a team that featured several non regulars and in a new system for the England set up.

Think about it. No Kane, Rooney, Sturridge, Henderson, Rose, Drinkwater, etc. Who would've thought pre-match that a team with Keane and Livermore would have the better of the game away in Germany? To be fair, both did well.

Alli and Llallana both should've scored in that first half. Imagine if they had Kane instead of Vardy in front of them. Would be deadly.

Think the second half subs which changed the entire front three halted the momentum somewhat after the goal though.

Seeing as it was his final game, I guess we can give Podolski that. Can't fault Hart or anyone else for the goal. Nobody was stopping that.

Games like this just continues to show that we have a group full of potential that when relaxed play some great stuff. Shame we can never spring the ball around or press like that in the tournaments.

Decent performance tonight but England always remind me of Spurs - maybe old Spurs. Lots of huff and puff but no end result and then concede a goal.

Lallana and Dele the best players by some distance for us tonight I thought, the system didn't suit either Vardy or Rashford - both of whom make you realise what an all round superstar Kane is - does all they can do plus much more.

The real worry is the lack of creativity, I thought that Lallana was about it for us and I struggle to see where else it is coming from. It's not Dier or Livermore and Dele is more about getting on the end of things.

I also thought the Burnley lad did well tonight on his debut.
