as a spurs fan how could you possibly want that.
Of course, no one wants that - but who could blame him? Signing a new contract amidst all the RM speculation showed an incredible amount of faith in the bald one and "The Project". Poch could have been in the Madrid hot seat right now, instead, he chose to keep the faith, and seemingly levy repaid him with this window....

There are still players being offered to us including one from Italy(who is being offered to all the better sides), but I doubt it will come to anything.

I know how it feels to be a fan of a club under a transfer embargo now.

I would rather not to sign if it is Joao Mario

The PR game for a preference he made clear over a year in advance in the Ballague interviews, and the club before that, and the one before that....?

You know what - you're right. I've had a mare. Poch doesn't want new signings. (y)

Only downside to Toby staying is we don't get to find out the juicy goss about what happened between him and Poch/Levy :(

He's right though. What is available out there isn't better than what we have. There is a general lack of quality.

I'm not at all questioning that Herc has been told that they have, but it seems remarkably convenient that Poch and Toby have reconciled on transfer deadline day of all days. I hope that they have, but I remain sceptical.

If Toby stays and signs a new deal and we also announce a new deal for Eriksen I'm actually happy with what we've got. Toby on a new deal and back on good terms with Poch would mean alot for us tbh. Still abit unhappy we didn't get Grealish over the line, think Poch would have been able to elevate him.

But every club around us has changed

True

and every one of them is stronger for it.

Not necessarily true. Are Chelsea stronger? No, I think they've gone backwards. United? One signing of note, lost some depth, and don't have what they need at CB. Arsenal have got a few players in but they were some way behind us and those players don't seem like top class signings. The only ones who've really notably improved on paper are Liverpool, and even then there's the potential for them not to work out or to cause issues in the dressing room. There's no way of knowing for certain until we get past the media frenzy of the summer and reach that bit where 11 blokes try and kick that round thing towards the right end of the green field.

That plus a signing would have been a great day for me. Can't quite believe we aren't signing anyone ?

There's no ambition under ENIC to kick on. We have become Arsenal, and will likely go gradually backwards on the pitch now as they did.

Having said that, it isnt the end of the world IF we keep the squad together. Fourth is a possibility, assuming as always that we have good luck with injuries and Kane can find a way to keep going.

The first month looks daunting though and could well set the tone. Lack of new blood, fitness among key players and symbolically Eriksen moving into the last two years of his contract feels ominous.

See you in the Newcastle player ratings thread.

To make this whole transfer window worse, once our one closes, we're still going to have to deal with Eriksen being heavily linked to Real Madrid for a few more weeks if Modric leaves...:inpain:

We didn't/haven't/won't sign anyone.
It's really not the end of the world that some of the complete fannies in here are making out.

I am a bit gutted that Martial couldn't be worked out. But hey ho.

I honestly believe we are still in a strong position, and I think the team will surprise a few this year.

Some of the brattish, childish, pathetic comments that litter this thread are completely embarrassing.

The one guarantee in football is that there are no guarantees.

Put it this way, we could be sitting on an absolute worldy of a player like Kane, who's path could have otherwise been blocked by a potential signing.

We haven't turned to shit overnight.

Our first 11 still beats any first 11 in the league on its day. I truly believe when we play as well as we KNOW we can, we can beat any team on the planet.

COYFS.

And for a final thought, how about keeping a can on the fucking bile and vitriol?!

Barely a single person here knows what has gone on behind the scenes. Panning Levy is a stupid fucking thing to do when you have about 3% of the information he has access to regarding the state of the club, the finances, the conversations with other chairmen etc etc.

How about not slating everything like spoilt fucking idiots. Step away from the keyboard, and go do something more useful.

The more overreaction there is to this (pretty trivial) situation, the more the media are going to prey on it the more the team gets unsettled, the more the results suffer, the lower in the league we finish.

Aren't people aware that their constant spewing of complete fucking bullshit is often a catalyst for the masses becoming aware?

Like seriously, if you want this window to be "thing" for this whole season, then go ahead. Rant, rave, act like a wanker etc etc.

But then don't moan about it when Sky, Talksport, and mainstream media WUM's are sticking the boot in throughout the season.

Because you'll have basically caused the fucking uproar yourselves. Prats.

Yes. We should have made a signing or two. But we haven't. Boo fucking hoo.

We're still Tottenham from the fucking Lane, we're still good, and we're going to dick fucking Newcastle at the weekend.

Fuck.

Fucking Hell mate ... I wanted a full blown orchestra behind that post..... You have nailed it.... the bellend's wont agree, but then again they have been frothing from their tits since the week before the transfer window opened.

Off to work in a minute so will miss the last couple hours of the window. Naturally disappointed and frustrated with the state of the window and the situation we find ourselves in but ultimately I know that in a few months time this won't be affecting my love for Spurs and my love for our squad and the football we play. Thanks to all the ITKs who passed on info throughout the summer, it's very much appreciated, and thanks to A&C and Rob and all the other staff who keep this place going (y)(y)
