Hey everyone! Been living with the !Kung people of the Kalahari desert since mid-July, and literally just returned to civilization. So excited to be back!

Anyway, so tell me (just a quick rundown; no need to be overly detailed or anything-- I'll catch up over the next few days): regarding these last two transfer windows, who'd we get?
A bunch of cynical fucks

Can you do deals from now until the summer where we sign the player but joins in the summer or can you only do that in a transfer window

Yes.... We can still ignore all signings out of transfer windows

You would think with the way the last two transfer windows have gone that we have the best squad in the entire world having won everything club football can offer.

I am staggered we haven't been able to improve the squad where there are clear deficiencies.

I recognise funds are limited but fuck me even Noocastle have spent

Ahhww..

Miss the days when there where a slight chance of @igijedi popping in...

nowadays:

“The Wheel of Time turns, and signings come and pass, leaving memories of signings, that become legend. Legend of signings fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when Levy reveals his fucking wheelbarrow"
Don't care that this was 48 pages ago. I had to quote to give you the appropriate recognition for that WoT reference!

I think not signing anyone this window or last was very much on the cards. If the stadium had been ready to go at the beginning of the season I am fairly sure we would have made an impressive signing to go along with the opening. Now that the stadium is delayed perhaps until next season maybe we see a real statement of intent going into a new stadium with a mega-transfer. Trying to show that we have arrived at the big time.

Yes I am blinded by optimism and emotion and am no doubt being naive, so we will probably end up with the equivalent of a Pot Noodle and a Wank rather than Cristal and Claudia Schiffer. That being said the allure of "not doing a Leeds" is starting to wear thin and I can but hope a World Class Stadium with N'Dombele and Isco next season is closer to reality than we think.

I cannot think of a single reason why 19/20 would be the plan all along.

Last summer was surely the time right with the new stadium and retaining our class players (I'm not being sarcastic about the stadium as I trust we believed we'd be in for September).

Only thing I can think of is that the club wanted to have one year's worth of increased matchday revenue to give us a bigger transfer budget in the 2019 summer window to go for more one or two expensive players, rather than have to sign average mid priced players for two seasons in a row.

We didn't have any reports of Sessegnon burning bridges with us/Poch last summer did we? I'd have to think he's at the top of our (probably very short) list for next summer, assuming Fulham go down. Might even have a relegation release clause, that'd get Levy salivating.
