I’m supremely confident in our team. I can’t believe how pessimistic some of you are. Our boys will get 4th, at the very least. I have total faith in that.

How many players do you think it will take to have a serious push? I think 2, midfielder sit next to winks and an stacking midfielder that can be creative,

Think that's why it's a bit frustrating. That investment in summer and we could b real title contenders this season.

Makes you wonder how the table would be looking now if we’d bothered signing two players last summer, doesn’t it?

We are almost level with a City side everyone thought would win again, and only 7 behind an incredible Liverpool side. It's incredible we are in this position, even not counting our horrendous injuries. Just think if we'd sorted out our midfield last summer.

If we had been linked to Batshuyi on Jan 1st would people have been genuinely excited and wanted him or thought nah we can do better?

Just saw on ssn that we have loaned sterling out to sunderland. Baffling as if jansen is not in plans and llorente gets injured saturday we are down to 0 recognised strikers

Annoyingly they’ve just signed Will Grigg too, this will no doubt limit Sterling’s playing time.

40 minutes to go and no rumours of a last minute purchase. On reflection, I'm not overly bothered. We have a pretty good squad and the rumours we would lose the likes of Toby and Christian never materialised. In our last 3 games despite being Knocked out of two cup competitions we showed a lot of fight and spirit without top players plus played some good football. We are sitting comfortably in 3rd spot with our best start ever. The season doesn't start until the middle of April in my book and, hopefully by then, our injury worries will be over. There is no real reason for doom and gloom.

Taking the lack of purchases in 2 transfer windows and the extraordinarily high injury problem into account (far worse than our rivals), I feel we have had a pretty good season so far - one to be proud of. I remain hopeful of at least a 3rd place finish, keeping our best players next transfer window, a new stadium and money to add to the squad in the summer. Next season was always the season I felt would be the one when we started winning something and, for me, looks as though the Glory days are getting veery close.

I would have thought, that’s the calibre of squad player we should be looking at in order to move to the next level. A definite upgrade on Janssen.
