Lets be honest, Poch seems to love an experiment every season.

If it keeps him invested, so be it. Using Sissoko as a CM (even though it was arguably always his real position) certainly worked ok. The Dier experiment worked very well. Moura as more of a started to show some promise last season too.

Could Poch turn Foyth/KWP and Sessegnon into top full backs? It wouldn't surprise me, but it would be a big gamble. It worked for klopp with TAA however.

I said two things in separate posts, and more internally. We initially were looking at a couple of RB’s, but their prices were way beyond what we would pay, and what we would get. So decision was recruit from within, and if a good prospect is available, at a decent price, we would venture. And I suspect if Aurier gets a buyer, it will become more prevalent.
I get the impression that after Utd were willing to pay above the odds for Wan-Bissaka that we were more than content at this stage to promote Foyth as more of a RB to deputise/battle it out with KWP with one of Trippier or Aurier sold in this window.

Put it this way, i'd be happy for our RB options to be those three to start the season and then evaluate next January.

Thats poor we should be bringing in a decent RB after the trippier deal. I respect that Poch has faith in Foyth but as No1 - no. Premier League is different to copa america. He will get ripped by the likes of mane etc at his current level.

I don't really get the disdain towards the so called 'bed wetters' after the last couple of windows. Pretty obvious why people are concerned at this stage

Foyth had a great game away to City at right back. Trippier is weak in defence, Foyth can handle it.

Nice to see all the positivity from our ITKs.

Now for the cherry on the cake, would like to see a new post from the ITK formerly known as igijedi.

I dont get this. Why do people worry so much about the players who could be sold and also worry about not signing as well? What really matters is what actually happens. So far we've released Vorm which doesn't matter as he never plays, Llorente who we could still sign and Trippier when we had 3 right backs anyway. We've signed Ndombele who could be our Van Dijk signing. We're not going to sell players without getting players in so no need for people to worry so much.
Well.. it shouldn't really be that hard to see why? I worry about the players being sold because two of them are starters - Trippier and Rose - and according to most reliable sources we're not even going to replace one of them, instead opting for Aurier, KWP and Foyth at RB. Aurier is more or less a donkey. Red card, penalty or other brainfart waiting to happen. Can't even get a throw-in correctly ffs. KWPI I like but he's barely played a football game for 3 or so years - you cannot expect to be title contenders with that. Which leaves us with Foyth, who's a white version of Aurier, red card or penalty waiting to happen. I will probably have a prolapse by GW 3 with VAR and Foyth at RB.

On the opposite side we have Rose, who has been a consistent starter for a number of years and when firing is 3 times the player Davies is. The only player we've been linked to in that position is a 19-year old that seemingly doesn't even want to play in that position. And even if he did, he wouldn't be ready to be a title-contention LB IMO.

I'm as excited for Ndombele as you are, but he cannot revamp the team all by himself. He's not a Messi. I doubt Van Dijk would have had the same impact if Liverpool had sold two or three starters (without upgrading) like it seems we may be doing. And just to your last sentence about not selling players without getting players in - that's exactly what we are doing..?

Couldn’t agree more, unnecessarily insulting after we’ve been told a million times before to chill because Levy’s got this, only to see Berbatov replaced by Fraser Campbell or whatever.

He kept Sane fairly quiet in the City game!

Good to hear about Sess, but is he ready to start? I'm nervous about right back, but I'll leave it at that..

My guess would be that some people find it odd that other people get worked up about a situation they know nothing of the actual detail about (including how close or far away a particular transaction is).

Past performance isn’t necessarily a guarantee of future results.

The guys that know stuff say “relax”. So why not just do that eh? You are of course free to worry, and please go ahead, but better to vent post window shutting don’t you think?

I’m starting to think the ITK is drip fed so that certain posters can air their thoughts...

Positive ITK and the happy clappers have a field day...
Marginally negative ITK then eeyore and the rest of the manic depressives can have their 5 minutes of fame.

Every single one of you forgets the cardinal rule time and time again, take it all with a pinch of salt. For some of you that pinch might as well be a visit to Salt Lake City ffs.

Get a grip for Christ’s sake

Don't forget the scolds. They have their moment in the sun too.

Quite the day for ITK. Thanks, all.
From what everyone is saying, it sounds like a lot is still in flux. However, there does seem to be confidence in the direction we are heading. So, I'll take all that to be a good thing.
As for RB options... I like hearing we will go internally first, as I believe it could be the making of Foyth or KWP. But at the same time, also a relief to hear that should Aurier also leave for pastures new, that we'd potentially seek a new recruit.
Don't really like the Eriksen news of it being a day-to-day thing. That must be a bit annoying to Poch and the coaching staff... as they're trying to make plans for the new season, and Eriksen is just important enough to influence our strategy on the field. So, regardless, I really hope they get him sorted soon. Preferably before the actual transfer deadline.
