Check the amount we've actually spent over the last ten years after sales and you will wonder where all the money has gone.

You may not have noticed as it's been a relatively low key but there has been some upgrades on the training ground and more recently the stadium had been given a lick of paint.:)

Our chairman doesn't take financial risks. Simple as that. We could spend £40-50 million net and make that back if we retain our place in the Champions League. But there's no guarantee so he keeps the money in his pocket and right now it seems to be working. Any expenditure over sales is kept to a minimum. We get significant revenue from the Premier League so falling behind the elite clubs has a lower impact.

My concern is that Poch is human, he can't be expected to turn water into wine every time.

He does have a better squad than our financial disparity would suggest, but it's highly likely we end up the window weaker due to the Rose, Dembele and Toby situations.

If I remember correctly from my brief, pre-banned time on COYS, Edmonton is/was ITK concerning the stadium, not regarding transfers. So his opinion about them (and whether we have 'slept') is about as informed as yours or mine.
He isn’t far from the truth tho is he? 2/3 really good signings to really push our starting 11 and we would of been rocking.

There is simply NO ITK - so there can't be anything more to be said.

Hummmmpphffffffff :depressed:

Based on prior windows ITK wise we might get some late at night or early morning if we are lucky. After that it's pretty much following SSN until late on where we wait for the dreaded 'that's all folks' from the Goat.

Everything is getting rather silly on here to be fair.

Signing someone or plural is not the be all and end all. It's general progression that's important.

We are far from perfect, but each year we are getting closer.

The nucleus is there, and it's finding the right blend over the next few years to complete the jigsaw gradually in the right way.

Daniel Levy is hugely frustrating at times, supported by many other chairmen confirming how difficult he is to deal with. But he is a businessman, and a good businessman. And let's not forget, a Spurs supporter too, so a bit of a juggling act there.

It is plainly obvious to see that everything has been planned to play a game of high risk poker on deadline day. Players who were 15m not that long ago are being sold for 4 times that amount when purchasing earlier. So I see it that it is a case of spend the early part of the transfer window getting everything in place, and then choosing where to fire on the final day. And then in addition on the final day, there is always the chance of a gem, or maybe a dud, but that's the risk.

Daniel Levy was supporting the B Team in the US recently, and that is not the sign of someone desperate to get work done early.

In my view, there is a plan, and that is to carry out extensive planning in readiness for a deadline day battle, in the face of a very difficult and challenging transfer window. In fact, I expect a similar approach to be taken next summer too.

People may belittle the ITK but they have said things will be left late. As an example, and I can't be bothered to go back and find the exact quote, but I remember distinctly ValenciaYid saying things will go to the last day, and how right he was.

Let's be honest, we will sign at least one player tomorrow. But this is still all part of the grand plan over the next few years. Just chill and enjoy the ride. We're in safe hands!

And our best players are not going to stick around long if we're not willing to invest to compete at the highest level. It should be clear what will happen, but some seem happy to bury their heads in the sand because the squad is still pretty good and the manager is allowing us to compete in what is hardly a level playing field. Besides, remember when we we're shit?

IMO, we'll get the "thats all folks" early morning. Unless something weird happens like when Madrid offered up VDV on a platter at the last moment, there really seems to be nothing doing at all that looks alive. Everything looks dead. Besides outgoings.

as I said earlier...its all about the balance sheet...nothing wrong in that. but it should be clear to all so we are not disappointed when we are the nearly team time and time again, whilst the so-called elite clubs win trophies...oh and just sell them a top player, so cover costs, keep us in positive cash flow

Come on guys, don't throw in the towel just yet. Just because ITK are quiet doesn't mean nothing will happen. Levy may just have to bite the bullet and pay more than he might want, but he needs a statement signing. Lets hope for a busy day tomorrow.

Reckon this could be contender for most optimistic voted post of the window...

This place has officially gone nuts. I have been on this since some of you were still in primary school and I think this is the maddest SC has ever been. Totally bat shit bonkers!

Why is it bonkers? People who have been on this forum long enough know how this plays out from here...

We needed to strengthen. We wont. Every fan has the right to be disappointed with that.

The richest club in the league though, and they've only managed to sign that one player by taking over a year to do so. That should be a hint as to how difficult it is. Plenty of people have been excessively negative since the window opened, and the damn thing still hasn't closed.
Alternatively. The team with world class players and top class backup in each position, so didn't need to buy anyone.
