Kluivert, De Ligt, Dolberg....all excellent players

Can't believe we aren't seriously interested in Dr lift. He's outstanding for his age, vertonghen reborn.
Really hoped we had a deal in place when we got Sanchez, a buy and loan back

(Edit so it's clear without spoiling joke: De ligt)

Some great talent at Ajax for sure. I think you have to evaluate the individual player and how they will fit into your team though. Look how it is worked out at Everton for poor old Klassen.

Was just thinking about him. What has he played, one game? I haven’t seen him on the pitch since Sam took over.

Trix said earlier that he was done. Hopefully he doesnt mean for good. :(

His brother played for England at the U17 world cup, including playing in the final, so he must be pretty good.

Similar height and physical qualities. Steve does it on the Right Hand Side, Ryan On the Left. Steve not quite at Ryan’s level yet but good potential!!

I reckon we may have taken a punt on RB on injury alone under normal circumstances, however I think we’ve let him go to Chelsea to improve the chances of RM getting Hazard (who RB will replace). The knock on to this is therefore the increased likelihood (admittedly probably already fairly high) that RM would let Bale go.

I think that we could get Bale for a relatively cheap outlay by writing off a chunk of what RM will still owe us from the initial transfer.

I’m not gonna die in a ditch over RB. He would undoubtedly have improved the squad but whether he would have improved the first XI? I’m not so sure. If I had to choose between him now and Bale in the summer, I know exactly who I’d choose.

Why the meltdown over Ross Barkley for goodness sake, he's not even that good and is a squad player at best for us. In his best season he scored 8 league goals ffs

Shiny new toy syndrome!

Be nice if a few more of our midfielders scored eight goals!
Do you think there's been a meltdown, I thought it has been quite measured actually.

Love the Ajax tie up as per Herc's news. It works perfectly well for them because they will always be there or thereabouts in the Eredivisie and selling their best players doesn't really impact that. By contrast, making top 4 in the EPL is always a huge challenge and we are trying to keep pace with huge spenders. They have some quality players like Neres, Kluivert, De Ligt and Dolberg who should all be of interest. We should also look to loan some of our youngsters to them for the chance to play first team football as well.

I'm not sure Ajax work that way, taking loans that is, their ethos is developing their own young players and so prefer to just promote a youngster.
Agree with you on the connection though, if you are going to have that kind of link Ajax ain't a bad one at all.

I hardly think Barkley would have been the answer for yesterday's draw. Here's his games, (subs) and goal totals for the past 4 years.
2016/2017 Everton 36(4) 5
2015/2016 Everton 38(2) 8
2014/2015 Everton 29(7) 2
2013/2014 Everton 34(9) 6

He created the 5th most chances in the premier league last season though. Only Hazard, Ozil, KDB and Eriksen created more. If we'd had him and Eriksen in the same side we'd be a lot more creative. I can't blame us for not signing him though.

Also can’t blame RB for chasing the money, he’s just had a potentially career ending (certainly limiting) injury so if he can get a big contract from Chelsea on double the money that sets him up for life.

Think he’ll be their new Joe Cole I.e. a “what could have been” type of player.

Indeed.

And hardly a difficult choice really: playing under Sam Allardyce for the remainder of the season or the chance of lining up in the Champions league.

I quite like the idea of us signing De Ligt (aka Dr Lift).

We'd then have 'Sonny' up front and 'Sunny' De ligt at the back.

Coat grabbed etc.....

Some of the Everton fans on their forum were saying he'll be like Rodwell, Jeffers or Dan Gosling. Promising, sold, injured and never anywhere near what they could have been. Guess we'll see. Right now he's a risk Spurs can't afford to take.
